Yup. No external safeties on a Glock. Like carrying a 1911 with the safety off. Glocks are great leg zippers.
One in the chamber. S&W bodyguard
Isnt that handburger.
That is the pistol I would carry if I could adapt to the grip, but my hand is all "wrong" for some reason. I make do with a decock-only Beretta PX4 despite my not liking slide-mounted controls.
Nice weapon and caliber. :)
Always always always have one in the spout...the only time youre drawing your weapon is to defend yourself and you better be ready to fire it immediately...
I open carry for work and I do the same off duty. I actually have violent felons who have made legitimate personal threats. If they make that decision, Im not wasting my time with some $;()tty conceal carry holster underneath a tangled up shirt when half-seconds count. Im drawing and firing in one clean, simple, motion.
What Im saying is: People can hide and hinder their access to their weapon all they want. I, however, carry for self defense and reliable, repeatable firing speed. I carry to survive. Not to brag about where I hide my (obviously printing) stuff.
No offense meant to any person.
I don’t always carry with one in the chamber. It is extremely unlikely I’ll be assaulted at the hardware store or the tack & feed place at 10 AM. And I don’t have the confidence in some of the semi-automatic triggers that I have in my revolvers. If I feel my risks are going up, then I’ll chamber a round.
But mostly I carry my J-frame. 649. I trust it, in more ways than one. My LCP is usually carried as a fast reload, so to speak.
“I never heard of a misfire or a jam with a center fire revolver.”
Rare, but they happen. The strain screw came loose in my 686 and gave me light primer strikes until tightened. I’ve also encountered very hard primers, and once had a revolver jam due to internal dirt - after having it in a horrible dust storm I got caught in.
I have a 22 revolver that had a 0.001 cylinder gap when I got it from S&W in the 70s. Once a file opened it up to 0.005, no more issues. Still own it. My kids fight over who will inherit it.
A good 1911 doesn’t even need the safety on. Hammer back, ready to go.
A little Bondo, a needle and thread and he’s good to go.
I agree. The first time I ever encountered a DA/SA I was appalled. I was used to hunting/target handguns, and 1911s. Since my mind has turned to CCW, I have come to like the DA/SA for the safe carry without a lever to flip in a tight spot. I don’t care for Glocks.
I'm not sure that would just buff out...
Just a flesh wound. Lots of flesh and one heck of a wound.
How do you like that pistol? It is one that I am interested in, but I have read several complaints about their “customer nonservice”. Have you had any experience with Beretta? I am attracted to it because of the rotating barrel action.
When I carry, there’s always a round in the chamber and a full mag. Around the house all my weapons are condition 3 - full mag, empty chamber. On my person, under my direct control though, always ready - Glock safe action, no separate safety to disengage.
Yes, it does happen, have a lightweight LCRx that locked up due to reloads that were jumping the crimp due to hard recoil. That was specifically ammo related, as was a squib that didn’t make it through the forcing code. Both were different ammo but still ammo related not the firearm. Suffice to say I don’t use those brands anymore.
Youve got to dry fire to decock it before disassembly and it seems even people who should know better perform that action while doing something like pointing at their hand... or worse.
Hand-burger ;-)
Thats a real mess.
