OMG, Yall, Taylor Swift is all, Like, Political and Stuff Now

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)

OMG, you guys, Taylor’s, like, terrified of Marsha Blackburn and stuff.: Pop singer Taylor Swift came out of the political closet on Sunday, endorsing two Democrats running for governor and U.S. senator in Tennessee. Which is just, like, totally shocking and even maybe, like, surprising or something, you know? I mean, reeeeaaaalllly.

Perhaps noting the irony of endorsing two old white guys when a woman is running in the Senate race on the GOP side, Swift’s publicists wrote this tidy quote for her to recite: “As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn,” Swift wrote, elaborating that “her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me.”

Because, you know, Marsha Blackburn is for all that scary stuff like letting babies be born alive, protecting the second amendment to the constitution and trying to exert some semblance of control on federal spending. Scary stuff like that.

OMG, Taylor’s, like, so totally intellectual and like, deep and stuff, you guys. No word yet if all the SJWs and other leftist freaks to whom she was appealing will now attack her for the fact that the Dem she endorsed for Governor, the cravenly dishonest Phil Bredeson, said on Friday that he would have voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court (Pro tip: that’s a lie), but it seems likely.

*sigh*

Well, we can scratch her off the list of potential Supreme Court nominees. – Right after her fake news channel spent weeks telling us all that Brett Kavanaugh can’t possibly serve on the Supreme Court because he drank too much in high school, CNN’s Taylor Swift-like fake reporter Caitlin Collins was revealed to have sent some decidedly homophoby-sounding tweets when she was in college.

Of course, everyone at CNN circled the wagons around one of their own, abandoning the puritanish stance they’d taken on Kavanaugh and informing their viewers that Ms. Collins’ unfortunate Twittering was just the hijinks of a poor college girl who didn’t know any better and she’s all, like, changed and other touchy-feely stuff now.

For her part, Collins apologized in a Tweet, because of course she did:

Kaitlan Collins ✔ @kaitlancollins When I was in college, I used ignorant language in a few tweets to my friends. It was immature but it doesn’t represent the way I feel at all. I regret it and apologize.

6:39 PM - Oct 7, 2018 5,664 6,307 people are talking about this Twitter Ads info and privacy Hey, maybe she can get Taylor Swift to endorse her apology. That seems to carry a lot of weight with the “in” crowd.

This was not his finest hour. – Speaking of SJWs and other leftist freaks, Former Astronaut Scott Kelly, issued an apology to all of them who flooded his Twitter feed with nasty, obscene messages after Kelly had quoted and praised… wait for it…Winston Churchill in a tweet earlier in the day:

Scott Kelly ✔ @StationCDRKelly Did not mean to offend by quoting Churchill. My apologies. I will go and educate myself further on his atrocities, racist views which I do not support. My point was we need to come together as one nation. We are all Americans. That should transcend partisan politics.

6:22 PM - Oct 7, 2018 6,597 5,864 people are talking about this Twitter Ads info and privacy For the record, were it not for Sir Winston’s incredible leadership and courage during World War II, we’d all be speaking German and shouting “sieg heil!” to some Nazi dictator every day. But, of course, with the nitwits in the American left now starting to emulate the tactics employed by the Nazis during the 1930s, the ravages of political correctness dictate that former astronauts can’t acknowledge such truths anymore, as Mr. Kelly’s pathetic apology clearly shows.

“Did not mean to offend by quoting Churchill.” *sigh*. I promise never to offend my readers again by quoting Scott Kelly.

Shame on you, Ruth. – In his first day on the job, Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh hired an African American law clerk. Why is this significant? Because Justice Kavanaugh, with that single hiring, has now hired exactly the same number of African Americans as Ruth Bader Ginsburg has employed during her 25 years on the Supreme Court and her 13 years on the DC Circuit Court of Appeals before that.

So, to put this simple terms that even leftist can comprehend:

Ginsburg – 38 years, 1 black law clerk.

Kavanaugh – 1 day, 1 black law clerk.

The more you know.

Hey, found those WMDs yet, Colin? – Not to be overshadowed by some pop star, Colin Powell, whose dishonesty as UN Ambassador helped involve the U.S in a 17-year war in Afghanistan and a decade-long debacle in Iraq, somehow feels that he enjoys the moral authority to go off on President Donald Trump and his foreign policy. The unbridled hubris of this man is truly breathtaking.

From our Once You’ve Seen This You Can Never Un-See It file…:

Hey, at least the Pantsuit Princess didn’t wear one of her favorite hospital gowns to Octoberfest, but what in the hell is Slick Willie thinking?

“Go on, take the money and run…”

David "Beto" Blackmon @GDBlackmon Gosh, it's just so darn hard to imagine why. 👇👇👇👇

ABC7 News ✔ @abc7newsbayarea Christine Blasey Ford has no further plans to pursue her sexual misconduct allegations against #BrettKavanaugh, according to her attorneys. https://abc7ne.ws/2IGRbqZ

11:17 AM - Oct 7, 2018 7 See David "Beto" Blackmon's other Tweets Twitter Ads info and privacy So, when you’ve just made a cool $1.5 – $2 mil in a couple of GoFundMe accounts that were funded by a bunch of suckers who thought they were helping with your legal bills, but your lawyers publicly swore to the Senate Judiciary Committee that they were working for free, it’s time to just close up shop and ride off into the sunset, right?

Right.

That is all.

Bringing Swift-gal onboard basically equates to 500 votes. One might laugh over the ‘support’ but this is how amusing that the election process has now become.

Who is Taylor Swift, and why should anyone listen to her about matters that affect our lives?

This surprises me. I am actually a fan of her older stuff and she seems to be very business savvy. All this time I just assumed she was a closet conservative.

Looks like I was wrong. Well, I never paid for any of her music other than listening on Pandora so, oh well. Dixie Chicks II.

My bet is her record sales stats were making her handlers nervous. The trend was not her friend. This is a misguided attempt to goose sales.

Either that or Swift was offered a quid pro quo for her endorsement.

If the latter, TN Dems must be desperate.

Of course, she waited until the North American leg of her tour was finished before expressing her views. Wouldn’t want to affect ticket sales.

Taylor is almost 30. She should use some of that wealth today to record HD scans for future hologram tours before her looks fade.

What’s a CD? Most folks today have their music digitally on their computers/phones/USB thumb drives.

>>Maybe all the good folks over in Tenn. can hold a “burn Taylor Swift CD Party?” I’ll buy the gas

Al Gore and Tipper Gore led the movement in the 1980s to burn rock music albums.

They didn’t really care about the issue, the people they affected (the clerks who were arrested or the musicians).

It was all an issue to launch Al Gore Junior to the national scene for his 1988 presidential campaign. Al Gore Senior (D-TN) had seen Estes Keffauver’s (D-TN) hearings against comic books do wonders for publicity.

60 Years Ago Today: The US Senate Puts Comics on Trial!
April 22, 2014
By Betsy Gomez

What a difference 60 years can make. On this day, in 1954, the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee to Investigate Juvenile Delinquency was closing out a second day of hearings. These two days would prove a pivotal period in comics history, leading to decades of self-censorship that almost destroyed the industry.

Better described as a kangaroo court that threw aside the First Amendment rights of an entire industry as a result of faulty “scientific” evidence, the April 21 – 22, 1954, Senate hearings were led by Senator Estes Kefauver and featured star witness Fredric Wertham. Wertham frequently targeted Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, crime, and horror comics, using pseudoscience to claim that comics caused juvenile delinquency, homosexuality (then considered a mental illness), violent crime, and more. Wertham’s April 1954 testimony against comics was no less damning...
