Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends)
OMG, you guys, Taylor’s, like, terrified of Marsha Blackburn and stuff.: Pop singer Taylor Swift came out of the political closet on Sunday, endorsing two Democrats running for governor and U.S. senator in Tennessee. Which is just, like, totally shocking and even maybe, like, surprising or something, you know? I mean, reeeeaaaalllly.
Perhaps noting the irony of endorsing two old white guys when a woman is running in the Senate race on the GOP side, Swift’s publicists wrote this tidy quote for her to recite: “As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn,” Swift wrote, elaborating that “her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me.”
Because, you know, Marsha Blackburn is for all that scary stuff like letting babies be born alive, protecting the second amendment to the constitution and trying to exert some semblance of control on federal spending. Scary stuff like that.
OMG, Taylor’s, like, so totally intellectual and like, deep and stuff, you guys. No word yet if all the SJWs and other leftist freaks to whom she was appealing will now attack her for the fact that the Dem she endorsed for Governor, the cravenly dishonest Phil Bredeson, said on Friday that he would have voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court (Pro tip: that’s a lie), but it seems likely.
*sigh*
Well, we can scratch her off the list of potential Supreme Court nominees. – Right after her fake news channel spent weeks telling us all that Brett Kavanaugh can’t possibly serve on the Supreme Court because he drank too much in high school, CNN’s Taylor Swift-like fake reporter Caitlin Collins was revealed to have sent some decidedly homophoby-sounding tweets when she was in college.
Of course, everyone at CNN circled the wagons around one of their own, abandoning the puritanish stance they’d taken on Kavanaugh and informing their viewers that Ms. Collins’ unfortunate Twittering was just the hijinks of a poor college girl who didn’t know any better and she’s all, like, changed and other touchy-feely stuff now.
For her part, Collins apologized in a Tweet, because of course she did:

This was not his finest hour. – Speaking of SJWs and other leftist freaks, Former Astronaut Scott Kelly, issued an apology to all of them who flooded his Twitter feed with nasty, obscene messages after Kelly had quoted and praised… wait for it…Winston Churchill in a tweet earlier in the day:

Shame on you, Ruth. – In his first day on the job, Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh hired an African American law clerk. Why is this significant? Because Justice Kavanaugh, with that single hiring, has now hired exactly the same number of African Americans as Ruth Bader Ginsburg has employed during her 25 years on the Supreme Court and her 13 years on the DC Circuit Court of Appeals before that.
So, to put this simple terms that even leftist can comprehend:
Ginsburg – 38 years, 1 black law clerk.
Kavanaugh – 1 day, 1 black law clerk.
The more you know.
Hey, found those WMDs yet, Colin? – Not to be overshadowed by some pop star, Colin Powell, whose dishonesty as UN Ambassador helped involve the U.S in a 17-year war in Afghanistan and a decade-long debacle in Iraq, somehow feels that he enjoys the moral authority to go off on President Donald Trump and his foreign policy. The unbridled hubris of this man is truly breathtaking.

The trend is a normal digression after releasing 1989, the definitive album of Swift's career, her musical apex. Still, reputation was no bomb by any measure. It was the best-selling album of 2017 and she supported it playing sold-out football stadiums.
There is no business advantage to this move and Swift is smart enough to know this. She won't gain new fans by this. She'll only alienate current fans, particularly in today's angry political climate.
I don't think she's worried about selling albums or tickets anymore.
She made this endorsement the day after her U.S. tour ended. She has six shows left in Australia and Japan and that'll wrap up "Reputation."
She's almost 29 and has been going non-stop since she was a teenager. She's a multi, multi millionaire. As I mentioned above, she's peaked. You don't get to peak twice. U2 never released another Joshua Tree. Bruce never released another Born in the USA. Swift will never release another 1989. Those moments when you are on top of the world only happen once in an artist's career, if ever.
She's almost 29 and she doesn't have children.
My bet is she's going to retire or at least take a hiatus from show business and settle down and raise a family.
Still, why she chose this point in her career to break her longstanding policy of political privacy is curious. Also curiously, she didn't go full-blown "I'm a proud Democrat! Stop Trump!" She singled out two races in her home state of Tennessee and not once in her statement did she mention the words "Democrat" or "Republican."
One of her former boyfriends said she was the worst lover he’d ever had. He said she was like a mannequin; she just laid there and “was totally not into it.”
Now we know why she was silent for so long. She’s a moron!
She’s actually given away lots of money to good individual causes and is sermingly a very decent person. Why she just can’t shut up and sing I’ll never know.
