I called to complain about my pizza order and I heard “Hire that man!”
Well, for the longest time employers were taking multiple interviews and months to decide.
Anyone in Orlando want to offer me a job at $20/HR or more, hit me up. Crazy strong credentials. Multiple degrees.
Good. Anyone who wants to work, can get a job.
And credit for this hot job market goes to B. Hussein Obama.
Just ask him. He’ll tell you.
Doesn’t mean we should open the floodgate for immigration as the left claims.
And by the way, Bernie will sue you if these jobs don’t pay $15 an hour!
Heck! I’ll come out of retirement for the right price.
Ive had to fill three jobs that were night and weekend jobs. If they showed up for the interview, passed the drug test, and said they would work the hours...they were hired.
Sounds like America to me. Supply and demand and even wage or salary increases...
Wow, I might have to come out of retirement.
I don’t see a tight IT job market at all.
The last US-based recruiter I talked to described was having trouble filling positions because the employer wanted new-hires in the office 5 days a week, while the candidates wanted remote work.
I just switched jobs, two days ago. I got a phone call asking for my res and at the same time they asked when I wanted to start. I was halfway joking and said today, they said come on in. ( I did have an inside reference though).
But yeah, it is full steam ahead around here.
Our grand kids and grand nephews/nieces, who had good paying jobs in the summer are getting great offers to work this Thanksgiving and Christmas from their summer bosses and others. Many are offering great discounts if they come to work.
My significant other went to an Ollie’s Bargain Store in Texas the day after its grand opening. Service was nonexistent. The manager told her virtually none of the employees came back to work after what was, I assume, a hectic opening.
It has been happening to me for a while.
I still turn them down but I am noticing a few things when head hunters call..
Hourly wage is creeping up.
Out of pocket for the offered insurance is going up faster.
Actually this is a return to normalcy and not a some fictitious tight labor market. This is what it SHOULD be like when looking for work. It shouldn’t be that hard to get a job if you want to work.

So the job market is literally so good that people can’t believe it?
If we keep going in this direction for another decade or two, wages might even return to their historical averages!
I lived this as a Human Resources manager in Europe. There was 1% unemployment in our area. We were always desperate for admin assistants. The 20-somethings would come in and ask to see their desk area, tell us what vacations they had planned coming up, asked not to sit near the air conditioning, or say they needed a window, or a 2 hour lunch. They could demand all kinds of stuff because they were in the position of having companies fight over them. Quite an interesting experience.
