This well-preserved portrait, usually on display in Berlin’s Altes Museum, has become quite famous since it was acquired in 1976. It’s a young woman, some traces of the original paint are still visible and a smile that betrays self-confidence. Although originally there were some doubts, it is now certain that this is Cleopatra VII Philopator, the last queen of independent Egypt. Yes, that Cleopatra.

Yes, she was of Greek Heritage—but, she spoke Copt (the language of Egypt) Worship Egyptian Gods, Dressed like an Egyptian, Gave jobs in her government to Egyptians. She was loved by the Egyptian People—So in all ways she was Egyptian and dreamed of blending Egyptian/Roman culture into a world empire—she almost did it too.

Yes, but when the Ptolemy's found themselves with Egypt as booty from the carved up conquests of Alexander the Great, what did they do? Put on the headdress, of course, and declare themselves the new Pharaohs.

The Ptolemy's were kings of Egypt, not Pharaohs. Cleopatra was the only Ptolemy to take the title Pharaoh, which was a religious title. She was the only Ptolemy to speak Egyptian or to take any interest in the Egyptian religion.

Imagine if one of the British colonies had survived, but Britain itself had disappeared. That's more or less what Egypt was like during the reign of the Ptolemy dynasty.

...the idea that the origin was the Hebrew phrase “HaKol B’Seder” (all is in order), attributing it to Irving Bascheller. It should be noted that Mr Bascheller was likely Jewish. If this is the case, then he may well have based it on “HaKol B’Seder” or its Yiddish variation.

I think that she tried the front hole as she did with Iuli, as couple of brats resulted I think. His brat nephew probably thought, she was probably a cougar with the clap and had nothing to offer.

The last queen of Egypt was Queen Narriman, the second wife of King Farouk. She was queen from May 6, 1951, until Farouk was overthrown on July 26, 1952.
