New Inhalers Draw Compaints
The Bulletin (Oregon) ^ | 03/26/2009 | The Bulletin

The transition to the new inhalers was mandated by Congress to remove one of the last remaining exemptions to the Montreal Protocol, a treaty signed in 1987 to reduce chlorofluorocarbon, or CFC, emissions that can damage the Earth’s ozone layer. The Food and Drug Administration was charged with phasing out all medications using CFC propellants once viable alternatives became available. Albuterol inhalers, used as rescue medicines for asthma attacks, were some of the last holdouts.

Anyone who’d do this have to be the most chickenshit people on earth. And don’t tell me this will save the environment.

As far as I know. A friend got a dozen for him plus a bunch for herself. No problems bringing them back.

I’m not sure, but they actually propel the albuterol. His senior year he really struggled with asthma during wrestling season. Another mom was a nurse who also had asthma. She’s the one who told us about the inhalers and picked up a dozen for him. We paid her $20.

He couldn’t believe the difference; they actually worked. Unfortunately, the bag was stolen from his apartment so he’s out until my parents go again.

I order my medications from All Day Chemist in India. No prescription required. Very pleased with their quality and service.

Can you buy albuteral inhalers vie mail Mexico to America or illegal? I don’t use my Ventolin one much but it doesn’t do a thing and s.o.b. comes back just as hard.

I hear you. I hate the new inhalers. My wife needs Fyentol patches, you wouldn’t believe what she has to go through to get those.

I had asthma for years, decades even. It was bad enough at times that I made trips to the emergency room. I struggled through high school before learning about the Medihaler Iso from 3M. Made life livable. After the prescription ran out, it was Medihaler Epi which was epinephrine instead of Isuprel. After a while I used Primatene and Bronchaid. After I got health insurance, I started using Albuterol.

Then I took up day hiking in the Sierras. After a year or two, I was out on the trail without an inhaler. The nearest one was 40 miles away by driving after 4 miles hiking back to the car. I had no choice but to go without. An hour after I discovered that I didn’t have an inhaler, I found out that I could survive without one. Ten years later, I still don’t use them.

“The FDA wouldn’t have approved them if they weren’t convinced that they were equally effective.

Absolute and utter horse hockey.

The FDA is a special interest group that is paid off by the pharm industry.

Public safety is not their concern.

Lining their pockets is.

I have one of the new inhalors. ProAir RespiClick. At first it felt like nothing was getting in, I think it is because I was so used to feeling light headed after inhalor use in the past.

Been using this new inhalor for a couple of years now and it is awesome. From Jerusalem, Israel. Great stuff.

I would never go back.

Exactly! How much difference could the tiny big of CFC in inhalers make? None. It’s just more havoc caused by enviro-whackos.

They also bullied 3rd world countries into not using GMO seeds that would have helped millions of people avoid disease and famine. But, the lefties feel good about themselves, so that’s all that matters.

I tried a search to do this, but didn’t come up with anything. What website do you use? Since you get your inhalers this way, then you must have a way to make sure these are the real thing, right?

I’ll have to look into that and see if they still uses CFC in theirs. Thanks for the tip.

How long have you been using them? I know that some generic med factories in India have been cited by the FDA for various issues.
