For Christmas Eve:
Apollo 8's Christmas Eve Message
Awesome! Thank you.
(Ever notice that Jim Lovell’s voice in this sounds a lot like the narrator in The Ten Commandments?)
If you actually lived on the moon you’d never see an Earthrise. You’d see the Earth waxing and waning but it would always occupy the same spot in the endless night of space.
One where we could do anything we set our mind to do. One where we honored Christmas and christian values. One when we had faith in America as the greatest nation on earth.
Sure was a different America then.
Very much loved those days of spaceflight.
Beep!
Beep!
Beep!
Etc...
Yes it was. Good post P.
Little did I know that in 6 months I will have gone from watching and listening to The Passages from The book of Genesis from the Bible being read to the World from a Quarter Million Miles away from Earth and putting things into perspective (39°F /27°F of Old Bridge, NJ to 100+°F in Houston, TX) and be Celebrating My 8th Birthday watching the Eagle Lifting Off of The Sea of Tranquility on Our new Neighbors Color TV.
And then spent the rest of the Apollo Program of growing up in the City near NASA’s Mission Control until I got My Driver’s License and moved out of that }{€££ }{0£€ of a City. But not until I had made several visits to NASA Center.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU ON THE GOOD EARTH...
Earlier this week I watched the Moon Landing and Moon Walk on Youtube, fantastic, the magic of my wonder years.
It beat the hell out of Big Time Wrestling, too! We all loved that, too! Flying Fred Curry vs. The Shiek! Bobo Brazil! Old school...
amen
