Gov. Chris Christie has signed a bill advocates say gives New Jersey the toughest anti-bullying law in the nation.

Christie signed the “Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights,” according to a press release from Garden State Equality, the state’s largest gay rights organization, which advocated for the bill.

..."He signed it, and we're overjoyed," said state Sen. Loretta Weinberg (D-Bergen), one of the bill's prime sponsors.

3 possible choices for conservatives: Palin, Herman or maybe Bachmann.

1. Don’t touch me.
2. Don’t touch my stuff.

Bullying is touching me, regardless of age, sex, race or any other factor. As long as the anti-bullying laws don’t infringe on my human/Constitutional rights, I don’t have a problem with them.

Every nerd in the counrty will appreciate this law.

Maybe this law did come into existance because of gay rights groups, but I have a nephew (and this is a macho kid that likes to hunt, ride 4 wheelers, etc...) that as a high school junior broke down and cried in front of his mom saying he was tired of getting beaten up at school.

His crime? He was short, 4 ft. 11 inches as an adult. He has spent his entire school life getting abused by bullies simply because he was so much smaller than his classmates.

Maybe if you knew someone who wasn’t gay that had been bullied you might feel differently about this law.

What I have never understood about these bullying and hate crime laws is how bullying me because I am gay or black any different or worse than bullying me because I am white or ugly or straight or have red hair or have only one leg!?!?!

The bill sailed through the Assembly and Senate in November. It passed 73-1, with 5 abstentions, in the Assembly. It passed the Senate 30-0.

I understand why he signed it.

Exactly... bullying may be a problem in some instances, but so is taunting, being a jerk, selfishness, etc.

The gays have been after this particular law for a reason ... they have an agenda far beyond anti-bullying. This is their toe-hold into moral legitimacy.

We moved around a lot when I was a kid, so I was always the new kid on the block. Yes, I was bullied. I learned to leave a mark of some sort on the bullies, and that they didn’t like to fight someone who would do anything to draw blood...

That is life. Constant protection by the nanny government isn’t real.

The should be NO difference.
Laws against violence and intimidation should not be restricted to any class, protected or unprotected.

I support the law because there are a lot of dumbass parents out there who did not put their son or daughter into years of karate classes to get to a black belt, enabling them to kick the living crap out of anyone who messes with them, like I did.

I have given my son explicit permission to beat the living crap out of anyone who messes with him, that he is never to start anything, but is to finish it, and I will back him 110%.

So being against bullying makes you a radical gay supporter?? News to me. If Christie is against bullying, no wonder Ed Schultz hates him. Schultz’ whole act is bullying.

Bow down before Moloch and sacrifice your children to him. Yes, you are right. 73+30 can’t be wrong.

Don't think so. It's up to the parents to get the school to DO something. There does NOT need to be more stupid laws. There needs to be LESS liberal nonsense and MORE discipline!

In HS I had very long hair. 3 boys waited across from my locker EVERY morning. They tried cutting it. They tried burning it. They thought of new ways to humiliate me, a 5ft tall girl. I DIDN'T CRY FOR A LAW! I dealt with it.

Responsible adults do not need laws to stop kids from bullying one another.

When some “authority” higher than the adult in the classroom makes laws it actually REMOVES responsibility, and reduces the number of responsible adults. Instead of being responsible, they go “by the book”, adopting policies like that of “zero-tolerance” which remove the ability of ADULTS to make judgment calls. And without judgment calls, how does one develop responsibility?

What happened to the days when you had a good kick ass in the playground after school? Oh no! the children are all to precious for that. Plus, some little bastard might be carrying a knife.

Of course you do. Homo nanny state laws go along with the pap you were spouting the other day.
