Is Trumps movement fascist rather than conservative?

I am honestly getting a little scared of what I see happening in politics at the moment. Trump seems to be creating a personality cult where his supporters don’t seem to care what they are supporting provided he attacks the people they don’t like. I am starting to feel a little bit like a German citizen in the early 1930’s watching normally rational conservatives start to cultishly follow a strong leader who they thought would fight back and stop the communists.

Seriously if I had to pick a political philosophy for the Trump movement I would say that it is fascism for the following reasons.

1. Trump's support of and past involvement in crony capitalism (such as his support for using the condemnation power of the state to take property for private parties with good government connections).

2. Trump's followers extreme desire for a strong leader and almost mystical belief that he can fix things without caring what his beliefs or idealogy is.

3. Trump's support for a type of nationalism that is starting to push into the overtly rascist and nativist realm.

4. The delight that Trump seems to take in personally demeaning and attempting to destroy anyone who opposes him. And the way that his followers cheer him on in so including supporting him using sexist slurs against Megan Kelly for doing her job as a journalist.

5. Finally, the fact that Trump and his supporter seem to have no concern for the constitution or the separation of powers.

BTW, Kelly is a lawyer. She’s as much a “journalist” as George Stephalloverus.

You need to check the dictionary.

I might not mind so much. Certainly I would look forward to street fighting between the Fascist and Commies with heavy casualties on both sides.

_______________

You are a fool to wish civil war in this country. My family had members who lived in countries with fascist commie clashes. Many people died terribly. Many starved. No civil war here. Go after leadership but not the people.

Cruz, is my first choice, I would be fairly happy with Walker, and I would vote for Rubio, Carson, or Huckabee in the general election.

I hate what is going on with Planned Parenthood and was out protesting at one of their clinics on Saturday. I think that abortion is the single biggest problem in our country right now and I trust Cruz to fight to defund planned parenthood and see that its executives are prosecuted for the federal laws they broke. On the other hand, the Donald was talking about supporting the good parts of planned parenthood which disgusted me to no end because their is nothing good or redeemable about an organization that was created to push abortion and eugenics.

Nope, its my own original thoughts. It terrifies me to see how many freepers follow Trump with no regard to his past or any of his other positions provided he sounds over the top tough on immigration.

I can’t think of any other candidate who are tweeting out sexist slurs on female reporters or whose supporters respond to policy arguments with personal attacks.

lol, yup 007 here that’s me. Seriously, if I oppose Trump and think that his supporters are establishing a fascist personality cult around him then I have to be a secret agent of the left. You crack me up and nothing could be further from the truth as the many people who have commented back and forth with me over the years know.

Nope, I wouldn’t even vote for Jeb in the general election. At first, I would have considered Trump in the general if Cruz lost. But overtime the personality cult forming around Trump and his over the top diatribes against anyone opposes me have made me terrified of Trump ever holding elected office. Let alone the presidency.

I agree more or less.

My main concerns are that 1) Trump opposed de-funding Planned Parenthood; 2) he does not seem to have any plan to restore a proper definition of marriage; 3) he spends too much time attacking the people who, opponents though they may be at this point, are not the guys who have been WRECKING our country (except for L. Graham, perhaps). I specifically think that Trump should have made a lasting peace with Roger Ailes. (His barely-veiled war with Fox News is counterproductive.)

Perhaps worst of all, Trump has recently said that Bush 43 should have been impeached for lying about Iraq. This was irresponsibly dumb on Trump’s part. Trump just doesn’t seem capable of realizing that he could be mistaken about anything. (See Victor Davis Hanson’s article about the Dems’ FALSE charges against Bush.)

It is exciting to see Trump crush the Republican Establishment by raising certain non-PC issues, and this is why the majority of us very concerned conservatives have been cheering Trump on—but we ought to notice that Cruz has a MUCH better stance on the issues. (Unfortunately, Cruz has thus far been drowned out by Trump’s flamboyance—despite the fact that Cruz has every bit as much courage as Trump—and probably a lot more wisdom overall.)

In short, I am afraid that Trump is not as smart or as wise or as noble as he thinks he is— or as smart or as wise or as noble as so many angry conservatives think he is. And I say that as someone who will continue to cheer for him a bit longer as he dismantles the corrupt Republican Establishment’s Presidential politics.

That is exactly the definition of fascism that I was thinking of. Trump is no stranger to using the power of government to advance his own business interests though the forcible seizure of others private property. He also is ruthless and very personal in attacking his political opponents. His supporters support him as a leader rather than his policies per se. And he is flirting with the blood and soil movement here in America.

He certainly doesn’t when it comes to private property rights. Where he attempted many times to use the power of government to seize private property for his development projects.

You do have to be flexible regarding the issue of property rights in light of building companies which can get people working. It’s not like the people aren’t offered a fair price for their homes, often times far more.

I’m of the mind ‘each case is different’ and all things must be considered. It just not a matter of someone owning property vs. whatever reasons they might consider selling for other development.

Why does a developer have any right to his neighbors private property. The developer can offer money to try and get his neighbor to sell but their is no constitutional justification for the government seizing private property and then selling it to a developer. The fact, that freepers are now all for Kelo scares me to death. Sometimes I wonder if Trump came out in favor of partial birth abortion if some freepers would suddenly think that that abomination was the greatest thing in the world.

Nope, its my own original thoughts.

Even worse. Not only do you talk like a liberal, you're even proud of it.
