YELLOWSTONE is under strain according to a group of seismologists who are monitoring the potentially catastrophic volcano, prompting fears an eruption is imminent. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Yellowstone ERUPTION: Supervolcano under 'STRAIN - experts find magma chamber pressure ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
A process known as deformation, where subsurface rocks subtly change shapes, is occurring beneath the surface of Yellowstone which alerts experts.
Researchers state deformation occurs when there is a change in the amount of pressure in the magma chamber and experts are keeping an eye on the development.
Seismologists from UNAVCO, a nonprofit university-governed consortium, are using Global Positioning System, borehole tiltmeters, and borehole strainmeters to measure minute changes in deformation at Yellowstone.
In an article for the Billings Gazette, David Mencin and Glen Mattioli, geodesists with UNAVCO, say the strain signal is larger than would be expected if the crust under Yellowstone were completely solid.
This would suggest lava is flowing, allowing pressure to build in the chamber.
The duo said: These independent observations agree with other instruments at Yellowstone, like seismometers, that indicate a zone of semi-molten rock starting about three miles beneath the surface.
We say semi-molten because the entire zone contains only between five and 15 percent liquid rock that occupies small pockets of space between solid rock.
However, they add these findings are no cause for alarm, and these measurements are consistent for a volcano which has been building up for close to a million years.
The Yellowstone Caldera supervolcano last erupted 700,000 years ago but experts say it should blow every one million years or so.
If the Wyoming volcano were to erupt an estimated 87,000 people would be killed immediately and two-thirds of the USA would immediately be made uninhabitable.
The large spew of ash into the atmosphere would block out sunlight and directly affect life beneath it creating a nuclear winter.
The massive eruption could be a staggering 6,000 times as powerful as the one from Washingtons Mount St Helens in 1980 which killed 57 people and deposited ash in 11 different states and five Canadian provinces.
If the volcano explodes, a climate shift would ensue as the volcano would spew massive amounts of sulphur dioxide into the atmosphere, which can form a sulphur aerosol that reflects and absorbs sunlight.
Unless that's the one day they oversleep.
There are too many people on the east and west coasts causing the middle to want to flip. We need to balance the population better. More liberals in flyover country will solve the problem.
dutchsinse.com shows graphically his theory about tectonic pressures moving around faults, mountain ranges and various drill sites.
He is having a pissing contest with youtube and others, so it might be difficult to read his previous predictions

Animals fleeing Yellowstone spark fears of volcanic eruption

Herds of bison running for their lives on the public roadways and they were not being chased or rounded up, the bison were running down the mountain slopes onto roadways running right past a filming crew, he added. They detect something vast and deadly. The Yellowstone Supervolcano is the only thing there that would fit the bill.

We should ask for the bisons’ opinions!!!!
Every volcano eruption is not at the top of the scale...
Predicting a volcanic eruption is like predicting global warming. Nature waits for no man.
So why does this story get dusted off every year or so and presented in a imminent disaster scenario context?
Yellowstone IS the ‘Top of the Scale’!.............................
This thing will blow and when it does it will be a very very bad day for the US, and will have a World Wide impact... but there is nothing anyone can do to stop it from happening... and no one can tell you exactly when it will... but it will sooner or later.
The chamber is a pressure chamber, don’t compare it to a baloon it’s more like a pressure cooker bomb ied. Any small exposure to the atmosphere will instantly allow all the pressureized gasses to instantly expand and blow the place sky high.
This is basically what happens when it finally erupts, instant depressurization.
Wherever I go, I hope theres RUM!

Kraken is the bomb....
True. But every ‘eruption’ isn’t the top of the scale...
The last time we visited Yellowstone this one bison planted himself in the middle of the road and would not move.
We just had to wait for a while—and then he didn’t exactly run... :-)
This from September 2017. Had no idea there was so much activity - all the time!!!!

Yellowstone Supervolcano Earthquake Swarm Now One of Biggest on Record, With Over 2,300 Tremors
By Hannah Osborne On 9/1/17 at 9:05 AM
An ongoing earthquake swarm at Yellowstone volcano is now one of the biggest ever recorded, with over 2,300 tremors since it began in June.
As of August 30, 2,357 earthquakes had been recorded. The most powerful in recent weeks was magnitude 3.3; it took place on August 21.
The press really like to incite panic, doesn’t it?
Especially the British Tabloids..................
I hope it blows next year as this year it is the summer of me.
Running a business makes it hard to sneak on the browser without hearing the word “hypocrite” whispered behind your back. :)
If it’s your business, it’s nobody elses...................
