Argentina’s farm of horrors: Latest shocking animal mutation discovered
Express ^ | 3/9/18 | MATTHEW KIRKHAM

The discovery was made when the piglet was spotted next to its mother after she gave birth to eight young in the rural area of Santo Domingo in Santiago del Estero Province in northern Argentina.

However, the human-like piglet died a few hours later due to breathing difficulties.

Pig and goat breeders Walter Oscar Velez and wife Roxana Noemi Villarreal, who also produce charcoal at their farm, said that they are at a loss for an explanation.

It is the latest in a number of horrific mutations in the country which is at the centre of a row over the use of pesticides and genetically modified foods.

Other recent cases include a goat born with two heads in the same province, a calf with two heads and six legs in the north-eastern province of Entre Rios, a goat with a human baby's face in the centre of the country and a real-life spider pig born with eight legs in El Galpon in north-eastern Argentina.

Some people believe environmental pollution plays a role in the animals’ peculiar appearance and untimely deaths.

Pharmacologist and paediatric specialist Dr Medardo Avila Vazquez said: "Around 12 million Argentines live in regions where soybeans are cultivated, surrounded by the fields where glyphosate is sprayed.

"In the province of Chaco, where soybeans are grown, we found the numbers of deformations quadrupled in a 10 year period, in the same timeframe the cultivation of soybean increased seven times. I see children dying all the time at the clinic where I work."

The gallery reveals the bizarre animal mutation epidemic in Argentina.

Boy talk about correlation is not causation

The outline of the article follows the typical anti-Monsanto format.

Describe a statistically regularly occurring defect in a dramatic and tragic way. Use terms that inspire emotion like 'horrific mutations'.
Tie the defect to what you want to blame... 'a row over the use of pesticides and genetically modified foods'.
Then promote irrational fears of harm the pesticides cause to support banning them. 'Some people believe environmental pollution plays a role in the animals’ peculiar appearance and untimely deaths' and 'Around 12 million Argentines live in regions where soybeans are cultivated, surrounded by the fields where glyphosate is sprayed'.
It's all for the children...'I see children dying all the time at the clinic where I work'.

Oh, then look at the gallery of all the mutations that glyphosate caused wink wink.

Perhaps pesticides and fertilizers should be banned. All the 'Green Revolution' resulted in was a boatload more people that hate Americans.

One day, someone will write a novel about a farm animal with completely human consciousness.

H. G. Welles came close to doing that.

George Orwell - "Animal Farm."

The picture above is not a cyclops pig. I’ve seen a few cases in sheep.

You can’t get through to people that believe this garbage. Most of it is driven by the usual suspects, lawyers and Internet shysters and charlatans.

It is most certainly a cyclopean pig. The defining feature of cyclopia is that the brain does not separate into two halves, thus causing the eye(s) to form in a very abnormal manner.

Cyclopia can manifest as a single eye with one pupil, two pupils in an eye, or even two eyes in a socket. Sometimes, there is no visible eye, just a lidded socket.

If you don’t mind looking at pictures of highly deformed humans, you can do an internet search on cyclopia and look at the pictures. There are many variations on the appearance of the disorder. Cyclopia is the most severe of a class of brain development disorders called holoprosencephaly and it is always lethal.

Although the picture is not real clear, it looks like the pig has two eyes.

That is within the range of variation for cyclopia. Notice that there is just one socket, and one eye structure that resembles two eyes that are fused or incompletely separated. Some cases of cyclopia have two distinct eyes within a single socket.

Also note the structure on the forehead, which is actually a malformed nose. In normal fetal development, the nose would migrate down between the eyes, but it cannot do so in cyclopia because there are not two separate eyes. This is seen in human cyclopia, as well.

A link to articles on the topic of the defect of the septum in humans and swine :
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6418034

Just happens that one of the authors is named Bacon.

Thank you for the reference. The authors discussed the physical aspects of development. I wonder if the affected fetuses ever have any awareness during their short lives, given that their brains are so severely malformed.
