This just reminded me of the original SNL '75 cast.
No Trump bashing, just pure comedic relief.
wasn’t funny
SCTV...Eugene Levy as Alex Trebek wannabe hosting the game show High Q. Now that’s funny stuff. The expressions that Catherine O’Hara emotes when Levy rips her for buzzing in too early all the time will never be duplicated. And NO ONE does a better sloshed gal than O’Hara. Tons of talent on that show. Plenty of skits on UBoob.
I totally f’d this up.
My point wasn’t to pine for SNL.
MY point was to pine for political free comedy.
The stupid link was an example of how you can achieve comedy without politics.
Learning moment.
I don’t a bit of political humor but today’s comedians are hateful rather than funny.
Um, dude ... this is from COLLEGE HUMOR, not SNL.
Eddie Murphy was the best! My favorite, sadly no longer available online:
He played Richard Simmons exercising ... and Little Richard singing.
So it was the “Little Richard Simmons”.
comedy should be funny. your link ? not funny.
Eddie01: “I totally fd this up.”

You did. And worse when you made several nasty comments to others.
Was in college back then. On Saturday’s parties would stop when SNL was coming on and we would pack into a room to watch it.
Remember this one. At first we thought it was a commercial not a spoof.

Back in the middle and late 70s my husband and I would always watch SNL-——and it would be on about the time our teens were arriving home———they always came into the TV room asking why on earth we were laughing so hard.
Good times.
.
Better yet but they missed “Jane, you ignorant slut.” LOL

You area search wizard1
That was not the skit I remember, but I couldn’t even find the one you did!
Eddie Murphy is incredible. And you are incredible for finding that!!!!
Thank you!
You’re welcome.
Hilarious skits that were done with real talent and no malice. Just funny.
Yes,there was always the left wing direction on SNL but somehow they seemed to have enough love for all the people.
Not now. Now it’s just miserable hatred cloaking itself as comedy.
SNL 1970s Gilda Radner. “Hey, You”.
Rest in Peace, Gilda ...
Yeah when they just attacked Gerald Ford, SNL has always attacked Republican Presidents.........always! Time just makes the memory fade, just like Carson always took slimy swipes at the Republicans, and soft touches at Democrats.
Re: “No Trump bashing”
Re: “When comedy was just comedy.”
I disagree.
In one of their first shows I recall them doing a skit where Nixon keeps calling Kissinger “Jew Boy.”
Their mockery of Gerald Ford - stupid, clumsy - was relentless.
They have NEVER been even handed in their political skits, in 1975, or any other year.
I gave up in the mid 80s on SNL.
MadTV was really good for a while.
