House of Representatives Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told the Texas Tribune that she felt famous feminists crowding her in her chair during her first meeting with President George W. Bush in the White House after becoming part of the Democratic leadership in the House of Representatives. [ ]
Three of these women (Susan B.) Anthony, (Elizabeth Cady) Stanton and (Alice) Paul were also pro-life, in contrast to Pelosis pro-abortion views.
In her interview, Pelosi suggested that a womans right to have an abortion was non-negotiable. One place you cant find common ground, I can just tell you this, is on the issue of a womans right to choose. That is the thing that is an absolute, Pelosi stated.
According to Feminists for Life, a nonprofit, nonpartisan grassroots organization which opposes abortion, Paul held a very different point of view. When feminists began to link the Equal Rights Act (ERA) with abortion, Paul opposed this trend, saying, Abortion is the ultimate exploitation of women. [ ]
Anthony and Stanton also opposed abortion. The Revolution, the paper that Anthony and Stanton published together, editorialized against abortion, terming it child murder and infanticide while compassionately addressing its root causes in womens oppression and advocating family planning, Feminists for Life wrote.
In addition, Anthony made an anti-abortion comment in a speech in 1875. According to Feminists for Life, in the speech, abortion is listed with infanticide and other murders among the negative consequences of the evils perpetrated by men.

“Birth control is the genesis of abortion”
What does that mean?
“Very inconvenient I realize people think they can be against abortion and pro birth control. They cannot”
Yes people can. To be accurate birth control really isn’t birth control, it’s conception control just like Natural Family Planning. The purpose is to prevent contraception. In contrast abortion is birth control, it prevents birth AFTER contraception has occurred.
The attitude of preventing procreation is the root of both birth control and surgical abortion.
Also, there are pharmaceutical birth control which aborts the embryo which is not well known nor discussed as those who would like to prevent birth don’t get involved in the details. However when the numbers are up and pharmaceutical abortion is included the 54,000,000 number of abortions since 1973 in the US (not counting the export we provide) doubles
Birth control is conception control. Ok. Now we’ve got
Pretzel logic. It’s a bad tactic. It provides cover for lies.
I am sure that people who don’t want to conceive don’t want to do so for the purpose of preventin birth. And you know that. You’re wasting my time
I will add this. Birth control pills are carcinogenic. The same class as cigarettes too, but Google. Has taken down the CDC report. The hormone screw up they provide causes breast cancer. In women. Not in men. There is no such detriment to men. Only the mothers and babies
I see you got my point.
Natural Family Planning is “preventing procreation”. No way around it.
Are people who practice Natural Family Planning condemned to hell? What about people who used other methods of contraception control?
No one is condemned to hell. That’s not what we’re talking about. We don’t judge each other.
What’s the point then?
“Birth control is conception control. Ok. Now weve got
Pretzel logic. Its a bad tactic. It provides cover for lies.”
It’s not pretzel logic. The factual order is conception, embryo, birth. If there is no conception there cannot be a birth.
Calling conception prevention, including Natural Family Planning, “birth control”, is a lie of omission.
Natural Family Planning is different. It is is open to procreation, it takes communication and enhances the relationship rather than destroying it as birth control does (statistically) and is often only done for certain legit reasons and not just for convenience
That made me laugh. And thank you for not condemning those who disagree with your opinion to hell.
It’s done to not have conception. When there’s conception as an accident, abortion takes place
It’s all birth control
“When theres conception as an accident, abortion takes place”
Wow, how would you know that every accidental conception results in an abortion?
I think you don’t know that, and I think that’s wrong.
It’s conception control When it doesn’t work abortion occurs. This is what makes conception control, as you euphemistically put it, the Genesis of abortion
People who practice conception control do not accept a pregnancy with joy. They kill it.
Ya, women on birth control pill says to sex partner I’m pregnant they’re very pleased and accept the child as any loving parents living as a family.
Ok We’re done here
BS with a capital BS
A eugenecist, Sanger was all for the destruction of the offspring of “human weeds” and the “mud races.” She said the most humane thing impoverished parents could do for their infant was to kill it.
Bullfeathers. By your reasoning women who have had a hysterectomy are pro abortion because they have taken the procreation out of sex Same for menopausal women
“She [Sanger] believed that while abortion was sometimes justified it should generally be avoided...”
Sounds like Bill Clinton. Abortion should be safe, legal and rare. I didn’t realize Clinton was also against abortion.
You can’t speak for everyone, just yourself.
