Well, lookie here. The scum-sucking, murderer of a cop lied on the warrant.
'We have 5,200 officers and I would ask that nobody paint our department with a broad brush. This is not indicative of the greater work that goes on here,' Acevedo said.
Uh-huh. Sure thing.

And THAT is why “there isn’t any video of the raid”.
WHO threw all the video away..?

The whole dept. should be broad brushed into patrolling on foot.
It should hurt, they won’t learn if it doesn’t.
It should hurt a WHOLE LOT.

I was going to post this so glad to see you did.
Bottom line, HPD executed 2 people. Chief Acevedo has a lot to answer for.

If that’s true, then full responsibility for the murders, and life in prison.

No surprise.
This casts light on what happened, but not on “why.”
Did Goines gave a personal issue with this couple? Or, is this just the way he did business over the last 30 years when he needed to boost his arrest numbers?

Back to this again. A short few years ago there seemed to ba a flurry of such misdirected or false information raids ending in dead citizens, many involved in no illegal activity at all. Then it got quiescent but now there have been a couple recently. The officers said they announced themselves. Why should we believe that when the premise for the raid was a lie.If you can't believe one statement you surely shouldn't believe another.

Yep, all cops are murdering, lying, evil POS and should be tortured then eliminated en masse...........(s)
To: Ol' Dan Tucker
No surprise. I’ve never heard of a 59 year old druggie with no rap sheet before. The whole case stank from the start.

IF the chief is telling the truth, and IF the paper is reporting properly, the top of the indictment should be for two counts of first degree murder. Maybe a count of animal cruelty, some perjury, burglary, official oppression (or whatever the Texas equivalent is).

We only have bad cops because so-called good cops shield and enable them.

The officers said they announced themselves. In this day, I presume they are lying if they don't have video. The lack of video in this case pretty much establishes premeditated murder.

Murder One!
There was premeditation. Not just premeditation, but also conspiracy.
But speaking Friday Acevedo said Goines has now been suspended. Another officer involved in the drug raid had previously been suspended.
...
Acevedo said authorities will conduct an extensive internal review of Goines' prior cases as well as other cases by the agency's narcotics division.
I'm sure this investigation will lead nowhere. I would imagine they will find that this is the very first time in his "distinguished" 30-year career where he lied to obtain a warrant.
