Consumers Lab is an independent test lab that studies herbal supplements. They look for content as advertised or per standard. They also look for contaminants. The latest study on CBD oil shows the Bluebird brand as having the highest concentration of CBD and the lowest cost per unit. I have a friend that gets relief from RA by taking that brand of CBD at least two times a day.
The difficulty with selecting CBD is there is no standard. Reading the labels does not provide enough information to make a comparison.
This may sound kid of wacky, but my
mother suffered terribly from
fibromyalgia, and found some relief
from using satin sheets. It took a lot
less physical effort to turn over or
shift her weight while sleeping. For
her symptoms she used a prescription
med called Lyrica.
hemp oil does NOT kill pain- I bought the straight hemp oil hoping it would- it does nothing and tastes nasty- it has nowhere near enough of the pain killing stuff that CBD is supposed to have
I only bring up Fentanyl, because during my experience as Caregiver, some of my clients have had cancer. Fentanyl was the only thing that made their day a smidgen more bearable.
The drug was administered by me and my assistants on a scheduled basis. We used patches, and only after we had ‘double-gloved up’ for our own protection.
Everyone signed the med book each time a patch was put in place. All disposed of properly. You don’t just throw a used Fentanyl patch in the trash.
[[Continued inflammation will destroy his joints and eventually his kidneys and heart.]]
Possibly but it wouild usually take a very long time to get to that poiunt- the body is very resilient, and will go a long time with severe pain before deadly consequences take hold- usually
Prednisone can easily make a person whacko... but it is good for anemia. If I could find an alternative for my Dad I’d do it because it really messes him up mentally.
yeah it’s nasty stuff- i think there was an incident where police removed a sticker or envelope or something from a vehicle as evidence, and it was laced with fentanyl if i remember right- they got mighty sick from it-
there are weaker forms of pred that don’t have quite the bad results- but not sure how effective they are- docs always gave me straight prednisone, but i was always interested in the alternatives, just never got aroudn to really researchign them
I have a close friend with fibromyalgia. She also gets intense, blinding migraines. She had tried various prescriptions over a ten year time frame. Everything seemed to cause more problems than it helped. She then tried CBD oil a couple of years ago and was able to function normally again. She said she could still feel the fibro and migraines a bit, but the difference was night and day. No guarantees than results will be the same for everyone. I do believe it’s worth trying. It’s incredibly low risk and might do wonders.
I believe it can be reversed, that it is a symptom of a diseased state. A person simply has to have the will to do so and an open mind.
I also believe that CBD is snake oil, nothing more than a mask for other factors which need to be addressed before healing can begin. No different than a multitude of compounds people now take to relieve symptoms without addressing the cause(s).
Best of luck. I mean that. I have yet to meet a person willing to undertake a different approach to their fibromyalgia, an irrational approach to a a condition which should prompt a willingness to try anything. The psychology of illness is a conundrum I analyze at-length.
Footnote to those thinking about attacking me for my CBD opinion: Don’t do it. Fair warning. Share your experience if you feel the need, but don’t attack me. Been there; I will return fire if fired upon. I am not kind to emotional, sickly lefty vegetarians and will not tolerate it here.
Personally I have never heard of an 80 yr old man suffering from fibromyalgia, much less intense enough to make him this miserable.
I hope he is seeing a good rheumatologist then, if the diagnosis is not clear? Does he need a bone scan? Is he on a statin drug that could be causing muscle damage?

You might want to check out Dr. Levy’s book, Primal Panacea for high dosage vitamin C using oral Liposomal vitamin C. I wouldn’t expect instant relief for pain, but possibly help for the underlying disease(s). Good luck.
Strip all sugar and yeast from his diet. Get a $16 bottle of aqua flora inc high potency 9 for all 9 strands of candida. Try the candida diet. I was diagnosed with fibro and none of the meds helped me. Out of sheer desperation I went to a chiropractor who offered some holistic remedies for fibro. He did a full evaluation and advised it was systemic candida. Nine years of suffering disappeared in just 3 days using the diet and system cleanse. Totally changed my diet, my health, my energy level. You might want to explore it as an option.
Praying for healing for your father.
Whatever you do, don’t let him mix alcohol and pain meds. Too dangerous.
Cant hurt
I know folks who swear by it
They smoke it or drink it or gummies or vape CBD OIL
Near my house near franklin TN there are two expensively laid out one acre to two acre glass greenhouse built tall to accommodate sativa strains CBD marihuana
Im guessing 200,000 plus acre
The Frist family is in it in a big way too locally here
They tell me you should gross 60,000 per acre every pull
Beats cotton or beans
If by chance youre on pain meds regimen or probation or parole they will dirty a urine sample
Just advice
Yes but for some things prednisone is only choice...some cocortisteroid
As for opioids
Better choices than fentanyl
Its just cheap and such tiny doses its easy on the liver
I prefer morphine for robust pain..
Or dilaudid
CBD OIL RISKIER THAN OPIATES.....
yes like the lime in a Cuba libré is more dangerous than the rhum
Also, I have a friend who uses Kratom for pain relief related to cancer. Kratom is not related to CBD, and is legal as well.
IMPORTANT- UPDATE INFO— I am in Virginia. He is in PA...I see him fairly often. He was on predisone for years (doctors never took him off)...yes it helped with the pain but he seemed to go downhill fast and he decided maybe 2 or 3 months ago it was killing him (he read something about rat poison) and so he was weaned off.
