Hi all, this is not to discuss the morality of taking them...my Father (age 80) is suffering horribly with what the doctors are saying is either Polymyalgia rheumatica or fibromyalgia. He has resorted to taking pain medicine at night and adding alcohol (he was never a drinker but desperate times). I know some here take THC free CBD gummies, so do they help with pain? PLEASE PM me or tell me here where to buy ones that are safe and legal and will do something as far as the pain. I don't know where to start and we are just trying to get him some relief...he's the toughest man I know and I often said I would have put him on Survivor show even at age 75 but this is kicking him hard and I have seen him cry which just about kills me so I am begging for some insight. If you have other suggestions other than more pain killers I would love to hear them...we are open to all suggestions. Really appreciate you all!!

First of all, I cannot help you with that type of medicine, as I have no access or knowledge about it. I’m going to ask if two other meds have already been tried for your Dad.
Prednisone and Fentanyl? I’ve heard of either being used in severe rheumatism cases. Hopefully, he has some kind of coverage to help with the costs. Good luck to your Father.

CBD oils can help with pain. Some oils are better than others, and not everyone gets the same level of pain relief.
I would definitely give them a try.

Presdnisone has nasty side effects and fentanyl is a hugely addictive opiate.

Funny you should post this. Just heard two people today saying how much CBD has helped their pain. Don’t know anything about it personally, but it’s probably worth a try. Hope it helps.
doctors don’t know what it is? If it’s Polymyalgia rheumatica then it will show inflamation in joints- typical of the disease- if it’s fibro- he will have a number of tender points, as well as a certain amount of symptoms of fibro
There are so many different conditions/diseases that mimic fibro- or vice versa- and one needs an accurate diagnosis in order to determine the correct medicine to use- some need prednisone- some need immunosuppressants, some respond well to low dose anti-depressants some respond well to vitamins and certain herbs-
I’m not sure you are going to find CBD gummies online- if you type in CBD gummies in amazon- all you get i their hemp oil gummies which aint the same- you would have to get a prescription for it- but you might be better off with the CBD oil-

Alcohol and pain medicine can be deadly. Very serious.
As an aside, I am guessing that CBD oil won’t be near as effective as opiates, just riskier.

Plus the opiate pain killers is usually combined with acetaminophen - bad news for the liver if drinking...

Two drugs I would try to avoid if possible, but sometimes they are necessary. Fentanyl overdoses kill many many people than heroin overdoses.

If he has that much inflammation going on then any CBD, painkillers, alcohol etc are just masking the problem.
Continued inflammation will destroy his joints and eventually his kidneys and heart.
He has to deal with the inflammation.
Prednisone would be good for a start. He may not need it long term. Also diet can help. Dairy causes inflammation.
