LIFE AFTER DEATH:When you die ‘you KNOW you’re dead because your brain keeps working’scientist claim

A new study suggests your consciousness carries on after your heart stops beating.

WE know we are dead when we die because our brains keep working to make us aware of what's happening around us, haunting new research suggests.

Top medical experts have forever been at loggerheads over what happens when humans die, with anecdotal evidence of bright lights and flashes reported by people who have 'come back' being the cause of much debate.

However a new study suggests your consciousness carries on functioning after your heart stops beating and your body movements fail.

This means you are essentially 'trapped' inside your dead body with your brain still working, if only for a short time.

Survivors of cardiac arrest were aware of what was going on around them while they were 'dead' before being 'brought back to life', the study revealed.

More surprising still, there is evidence to suggest the deceased may even hear themselves being pronounced dead by doctors.

Dr Sam Parnia is studying consciousness after death and examining cardiac arrest cases in Europe and the US.

He says people in the first phase of death may still experience some form of consciousness.

The expert ventured that people who have survived cardiac arrest later accurately described what was happening around them after their hearts stopped beating.

He said: "They'll describe watching doctors and nurses working, they'll describe having awareness of full conversations, of visual things that were going on, that would otherwise not be known to them."

Explaining when a patient is officially declared dead, he said: "It's all based on the moment when the heart stops.

"Technically speaking, that's how you get the time of death."

His study is examining what happens to the brain after a person goes into cardiac arrest - and whether consciousness continues after death and for how long - to improve the quality of resuscitation and prevent brain injuries while restarting the heart.

Unlike the plot in Flatliners, however, when a person is resuscitated they don't return with a "magical enhancement" of their memories, said Dr Parnia.

oddly enough, at the very end of my NDE, after i ‘failed the test’ that i was given to ‘get out of hell’ (Something that is totally non biblical- which is what makes me believe NDE’s aren’t actually dying and spirit leaving body) I ended up in a state of ‘complete black nothingness’ which honestly was more frightening than the hell vision i had- it’s hard to explain- but it was nothingness but i was aware of being in the state of nothingness- all alone- completely isolated from everything- for eternity-

none of the NDE made sense really- and was totally biblical- which is why i say NDE’s are simply misfiring synapses- probably designed to keep the dying person from ‘freakin out’ (except there are some exceptions- like mine- but it was weird, i wasn’t really freaked about about the whole ‘dying process’ i was just frightened by being settled i n the nothingness) add while it of course wasn’t an actual experience, it seemed so real- i remember preaching to the doctors and nurses that were saving my life when i came to- they probably thought i was a bit dazed from the whole experience and likely just shrugged it all off- I can see where other NDE folks speak of it as a ‘real experience’ because it does seem so real- but again, after I’ve had time to examine it all- it just doesn’t add up to a real leaving the body experience-

RWC- I REPOSTED this for You (and Us) so it was easier to read.
***************************************************************************

“Ugh. I was a hospice nurse for many years. Super gratifying job for a nurse, surprisingly. As a ‘regular’ nurse, you are rarely offered thanks. Hospice nursing is an island unto itself. Mostly peaceful, lots of times sad, often a blessing.

This is sad, but also creepy, and I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t seen it. Had a 20-year-old kid, gang member, who was dying of primary liver cancer. Super unusual, aggressive, and terminal. He was angry at the universe. His family was there to comfort him, but he literally spit in their faces. Every ounce of energy he had left was angry and mean and ugly. His mom would beg him to lighten up and accept Jesus into his heart. He would swing at her and tell her to eff herself. The family remained bedside, in hopes he would chill out at the end.

His last day, hours, moments, he was angry. The family called me into the room, and told me they thought he was going (he wasn’t responding, Cheyne-Stokes breaths, eyes glossy and skin cold–the end was imminent.) His lovely mother, in her dearest attempt, whispered to him to go towards the light, to her Jesus. With his dying breath he opened his eyes, looked at her and said ‘Eff your Jesus!!!’ A second or two later, he slowly turned his head to the to the left, and got the most horrific look on his face as if he was looking at something we couldn’t see, and horrified, like in a bad movie, his face contorted, and he screamed with his last breath, eyes wide, ‘Oh shit, oh shit, OH NOOOOOOO!!!!,’ then made a guttural noise and promptly fell back into the bed and died. Every family member was shaking and too frightened to speak, and I left the room and took two days off. I don’t care if I never find out what he saw.”

Wow

Back on 12/25/2016 I was already in the Hospital for problems with My Feet. Went for an MRI and was complaining about My right Abdomen in pain on the way down to it.

When returning to My room as they started to transfer back to the bed I was suddenly in INTENSE PAIN as in SCREAMING FOR PAIN MEDS NOW!!! As We were headed back to the elevator a Nurse hit My Pick Line with Morphine thank God She had that because on the 1-10 pain scale thing I was a 30 !!!

The took Me right to Emergency Surgery and the Doc told Me “They were going to fix Me up” Then I was told to count backwards from 100. I got to Ninety-Eig...

The next thing I remember was I’m on an Op Table, strapped down, IV’s and Intubated. I was on the ceiling looking down at Myself on an Op Table- strapped,IV’s and Intubated with 3 Oriental Docs talking about which Organs were going to be Harvested 1st.

Ceiling Me started SCREAMING AT THEM “I’M ALIVE, I’M ALIVE DON’T PART ME OUT !!!”

The next thing I remember was semi-conscious and My Wife was sitting next to Me and I wanted to go Home and She said “No, We have to stay here for a while.”

The next time I woke up I was in Private ICU and alone for a while before a Nurse came in and asked how I felt and if I knew where I was. I replied I hurt all over My gut (covered in bandages) and was in the Huntersville Hospital. She gave Me IV Pain Meds and said that I was in the Main Hospital in Downtown Charlotte. Then asked Me My Name and Birthday and I got those right away.

It took Me a while to put things in perspective and almost every Nurse asked Me if I had a DNR. One even brought a Generic DNR to fill out. I told her that My Wife knew what to do. But They kept pestering Me about it.

When My Wife came in later that day I found out that I had ruptured My Intestine and was lucky I was already in the Hospital or I’d be Dead. The Doc’s patched My Ruptured Intestine up on 12/25 and while in Recovery I thrashed around and tore the internal stitches and went back under on 01/01/2017 yo fix that and was put in an Induced Coma and IV’ed, Intubated and Strapped down for 2 weeks. During that time My Kidneys started to crap out, had Heart trouble and They didn’t think that I was going to make it.

I would appear that God has a Plan for Me cuz I’m still here.

My luck it would be one of the lowest rated last episodes from the final season. One without Travolta.

If you want to know what it’s like when you die, go under anesthesia for a surgery.

Yes. I believe when you die, you go right back to where you were before you were born. Nothing to fear, nothing to rush into.

Watch the movie Brainstorm.  You can rent it for three bucks on Amazon.
Natalie Wood died during its production.  It's about recording brain waves
at the time of death.

He suddenly found himself up in the upper corner of the room, looking down.

This is such a common experience, doctors would put a placard face up on top of shelves in the room where they could only be viewed by someone floating at the top of the room. There were plenty of NDEs and no one ever read the signs.

In Scripture, the anthropology of man is comprised of Body, Soul, and Spirit. he Body have 5 senses as methods of perception. The Soul has logic and reasoning as senses of perception. Faith is a system of perception in the human spirit. In a quick nutshell:

While the body may influence the soul, it shouldn’t be identified as the soul. So the Brain is not the soul, though the brain may influence the soul.

When God, who is Spirit, regenerates a human, He is regenerating the human spirit. The Human spirit also becomes the dwelling place for God the Holy Spirit during this Church Age. The spirit also may influence the soul. When in fellowship with God, this theological process is referred to as sanctification.

There are many testimonials of those who have suffered a physical death (Death is a state of existence involving separation.) or a separation of the soul and the body, which may last considerable amounts of time,... more than can be accounted for by physical measurements and identified medically as neurological physical forces.

The human brain, though, upon many deaths, simply deteriorates and is no longer physically functional. There may be studies such as this article reports, where some out of body experiences reported may be identified with physical measurements of neurological activity, but care should be taken because many scientific studies may be conducted with a conflict of interest in attempting to “disprove” Scripture, rather than accepting all evidence available in their arguments in order to verify the actual processes they study.

Does not the brain control the central nervous system???

The heart stopping should not affect the nervous system if the brain is still functioning...If this is so, then a person could still move with the heart stopped...

But I gotta have a central nervous system!

What you know seconds after death is whether what you are experiencing is the face of Jesus Christ welcoming you to heaven, or the flames of hell scorching your soul.

Before the advent of opiods, people would either be smiling or screaming at the point of death based on which floor the elevator was heading.

I'm not sure that's how it works. But if it is, I wonder what awaits in the land of Bosco.

Yeah - I’m thinking that the shock effect protects the brain from going nuts...how many folks had a traumatic incident and never regained memory of the period directly leading up to it...or had the “bright light syndrome”...never heard of a case where one came back and said it was a nightmare ..(of course, I haven’t looked for such a case either...)
Plus, I also imagine the soul is in sudden contact with some of God’s “emissaries”....it’s one of those things nobody will ever (maybe) know until it occurs on a personal level...

In 2017, I died 2x while in York Hospital for severe-acute Pancreatitis and Gall Bladder (no, I don’t drink), and they brought me back both times. I was in 23 days, lost 131-lbs (265 to 134) from having only 4 cups of ice chips/day. I was being IV fed and watered thru neck veins. Body ate all fat and muscle, leaving me like a cadaver. 38 pants down to 32.
I was a zombie for 2-3 week, not know who/where I was.

One of the stomach stents used to drain a massive pseudo-cyst on my pancreas came loose after discharge from PSU-Hershey Med Ctr after 15 ERCP-Endoscopies, and my stomach started filling-up w/ blood. Tube up nose down to stomach to pump-out blood on the ambulance ride back to Hershey from York, and into ER to OR, and they fixed it.

I’m still in God’s “Waiting Room”, but he hasn’t called me yet.

It was the episode where Gilligan makes the Skipper mad.

Wait a minute.....

It wasn’t Welcome Back Kotter!

It was The Partridge Family!

I might have them mixed up.....a little.

“Those who have the strength and the love to sit with a dying patient in the silence that goes beyond words will know that this moment is neither frightening nor painful, but a peaceful cessation of the functioning of the body. Watching a peaceful death of a human being reminds us of a falling star; one of a million lights in a vast sky that flares up for a brief moment” ― Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, On Death and Dying

That is one of the most unusual stories I have ever read on this type of subject.

We can on speculate as to what that kid saw but whatever it was it shook him to the core and made his last seconds horrifying.
