I haven't had a chance to watch episode 4 yet
Me neither.
Valar Pingus
Listen for the music at the end.
Dany going mad late in the game has always been a leading theory. If that's her path, I'm surprised the show has taken this long to do it. There have been hints all along, but she's held together reasonably well. A main character doing a Jekyll and Hyde at the last minute is awfully gimmicky, but this is probably driven by the artificial time constraints under which the show now labors. And again, for the umpteenth time, the subtlety and complexity of the plot has continued to decline since the show outran the books.
It seems like that massive battle was GOT shooting its wad. What has come after, so far, is tying up loose ends. Surely the producers did not make the show peak too soon. Nobody would do that.
The show hasn't signaled that Jon is unstable, but if I were writing it, I'd throw an ominous sign or two into the mix in the last episode. I wouldn't have Jon commit any grave crimes, but I'd do just enough to give people an unsettling feeling as the show wrapped up.
Dany has recently lost:
-2 “children” (dragons)
-Ser Jorah
-best friend Missandei
-Most of the Dothraki horde
They helped keep her grounded.
Danny isn’t a Martell, because her father Aerys married his full sister, Rhaella Targaryen.
All shows must end....
I look for the demise of a few characters that are no longer needed. Varys could get the brunt of Daney’s wrath, treason talker that he has become.
Euron and his fleet are no longer a factor as everything from here on is going to happen on land. Look for a dragon to come out of the water and finish the fleet.
With Sansa gone, there would be no threat of an uprising in the north, so Daney might do that, which would put her in the sights of Jon and/or Ayra.
Yes, you are right. I should’ve looked it up. Rhaegar married a Martell. A little outbreeding is good.
Jon’s father, Prince Rhaegar, first married Princess Elia Martell. So Jon’s half-brother and half-sister were half Martell.
Yes, this might be why Jon seems to be more stable than Dany (less inbreeding).
Watched first 2 eps of 8, and hard to stay awake. Hope it gets better soon.
The Red Woman told him that it was both their destines to die far from their home countries.
“All shows must end....”
Yes. GOT, however, will have a prequel on HBO. Apparently there or 4 or 5 premises for such a series in pre-development. Only one of them will make the cut.
” Anyone remember the ultra-wild wildlings that ate Wildlings? “
I thought they ate oompa loompas.
How much of a threat is Dany without even a single healthy dragon?
