Great way to welcome blacks into the conservative movement. “Welcome! But first let’s rip on blacks for being poor tippers!”
Utterly pathetic.
I did an experiment with my children and asked them to describe something trivial about themselves (blonde hair) Then go about your day and whenever someone does something that upsets you or inconveniences you, chalk it up to them not liking your blonde hair.
After a week an extremely solid case could be made that America is a nation that hates blonde haired people. The act of looking for poor treatment makes it appear to be everywhere. People were exceptionally rude to them time after time. “They didn’t give me a fork or straw at the drive through, just because I have blonde hair!” (or just because I’m black) This is what happens to blacks in America.
I will say though, gays tend to be good tippers, since many worked as waiters, themselves.
It’s been awhile since I waited tables, but I can direct I can directly contradict this. Offered good service. Received coins in return, if anything. Every time.
Apparently this guy has never served an order of cold chicken nuggets at McDonald's. It's probably not unusual for the server to be jack-slapped or shot by an undesirably behaved customer.

I truly think that’s it. Black people have been told that any negative experience or interaction they have is because they’re black. It’s not, of course, but they come into any situation expecting it to be bad and racially motivated.
In other words, stereotypes are a real timesaver.
This is why there are ‘stereotypes’. They’re not always ‘wrong’.
It doesn’t seem to have occurred to the people who did this study that the perceptions might be based in reality. I mean, they could have observed the behaviors in question and measured the tips, then compared with other customers.
The open question is: Does prejudice cause bad behavior, or does bad behavior cause prejudice?
Then there is the question never asked: Were people afraid to give honest answers, for fear of cancelling?
I had a bartender friend tell me a funny anecdote. A young black guy sat at her bar and ordered a Hennessey and Yoo-hoo. She said “we don’t carry that.” So he said, “alright, I’ll take a courvoisier and Yoo-hoo.”

That’s why they made sure to ask only “white” servers.
Blue collar workers are the best tippers.
It’s only because they don’t TIP!
One of my high school classes wanted to have a pizza party for the end of the year one year. The class was probably 90% black. I supervised them figuring out the cost per pupil. I said, and don’t forget to figure in the tip. They all looked at me like I was out of my mind. What?!! We ain’t paying no tip! I told them no tip, no pizza party. They figured in a 10% tip. And just try to get them to bring in a single canned good for our food drive for needy families at Thanksgiving.
Other waiters/ waitresses are the best tippers.
A few weeks ago my wife and I went out to dinner at a nice place in town.
I knew my next door neighbor was a waitress but not that she had just started working there. She was our server.
As we were getting served, a large group of black families sat down near us. It was about twenty people.
He husband told me later that huge group tipped a total of $50.
No class.
