A man who got out of his car and swung a bat at squeegee workers during a confrontation in downtown Baltimore was killed Thursday when one of the workers pulled out a gun and shot him, authorities said.

When did this become an occupation? Is there a union? Where do you apply for one of these "jobs"? Any special training required?
Everyone knows that squeegee workers aren’t workers at all. They are low-level extortionists. So it’s simply wrong to give them the honorable title of “worker”. But, hey. That’s the state of American journalism these days.
A strike by squeegee workers threatens to end driver distraction and force people to wash their own windows. The main issue is said to be working conditions. “We are forced to stand around in all kinds of weather and fight with heavy traffic, all for minimum wage and no benefits. No other profession has to face these intolerable conditions,” said Ima Goofball, the head of the Amalgamated Nuisance Workers of America.
“If Americans want to see us loitering near left turn lanes again, they will need to dig a bit deeper, and welcome us into their personal space even though we serve no obvious purpose in an age where most vehicles have wipers and fluid.”
The union of those guys with the big signs outside used car lots gave their full support.
The people who attempt to clean your windshield without your permission or request are now called “Squeegee Workers”? I always called them deadbeats or extortionists.
What kind of crapola is this?
I used to just tell them in Houston that if they touched my truck I’d run over them. Usually a menacing look would drive them off though.
They are commonly called “squeegie kids” in Baltimore.
The “worker” is obviously an honorarium placed in the pushy thugs by AP and of course, now appropriately named “Yahoo”.
Man defends himself against squeegee thugs and is assassinated.
Yeah that was a glaring call. Probably get on disability from PTSD. Hmmmm. Did the “worker” have a permit to CCW?
Four times, by my count.
He'll probably get shot again on Sunday and Monday.
If you read ths story he wasn’t defending himself, he got out of the car and attacked them is a bat. Regardless- “A man who got out of his car and swung a bat at squeegee workers during a confrontation in downtown Baltimore was killed Thursday when one of the workers pulled out a gun and shot him, authorities said.”
Was the “worker” carrying the gun legally?? Was he aloud to carry it in downtown Baltimore??
You are your own boss and get to make your own hours.
Exactly. You are trapped in your car at at traffic light and these ... men... are little more than beggars.
You have got to be f***ing kidding right?!
I was being sarcastic. The criminal liberal media won’t count this as “gun violence”.
This con was widespread in NYC a long time ago. Various excuses in our shameful and decrepit “system of justice” led to the criminals getting off and the decent citizens having to cower in fear to avoid discrimination charges.
The American people allow the soft on crime system to go on all this time later.
Cops in fear of being arrested and citizens on the run while criminals laugh and smirk.

It's a shakedown. Inner-city feral youths congregate upon your vehicle to "clean" your windshield at red lights and then demand payment for their services. If you don't pay, they strike your car with their metal squeegees.
They're a menace.
Well apparently this is exactly what they voted for.
Anyone who jumps out of a car, in a fit of road rage, is asking for trouble. Better to stay in your car and just keep moving, (as in moving to another place to live).
