A top Italian history professor has caused outrage after he claimed that the Roman Empire fell due to the rise of homosexuality.
Roberto De Mattei, 63, a devout Roman Catholic, had already raised eyebrows by saying the Japan tsunami was "divine punishment", and now with his latest claim he faces calls to resign.
"The collapse of the Roman Empire and the arrival of the Barbarians was due to the spread of homosexuality," the Daily Mail quoted the vice-president of Italy's prestigious Centre for National Research as saying in a radio interview.
"The Roman colony of Carthage was a paradise for homosexuals and they infected many others. The invasion of the Barbarians was seen as punishment for this moral transgression.
"It is well known effeminate men and homosexuals have no place in the kingdom of God.
"Homosexuality was not rife among the Barbarians and this shows God's justice comes throughout history," he stated.
Fellow historians, gay rights groups and politicians expressed their outrage over his claims.
"I have tabled an urgent call for the education minister to intervene," Paola Concia, an MP with the Democratic Left, said.
Italian homosexual groups said the professor's comments were "based on superstition, ridiculous and outrageous" and called on him to resign from his Rome-based post…

I would put it differently.
Homosexuality and paedophilia were common, nearly everywhere, before Judaism and Christianity.
Judaism begot Christianity, which conquered Rome in spirit, creating the moral structure which defined homosexuality and paedophilia as wrong.
Christianity, because of the worship of truth, fostered science and objective fact.
Christianity and Science in Europe, with the reformation and renaissance, fostered the advancement of engineering and technology, conquering the world with several industrial revolutions. The conquest of the world by Europe was, essentially, the advancement of Christendom.
Other civilizations have not been able to compete.
Probably even in the best of times there was sex and vice. But when deviance becomes openly displayed and sanctioned, let alone widespread, that society is at the end stage of decadence.

You completely missed the point. Even in a state like Illinois, Whites in the Megalopolis are more likely to vote Left than Whites in rural areas. Rural people have more spiritual strength than city people on average and thus are less likely to go with the trendy set and support LGBTQP agendas. Yeah, I know Truman Capote grew up in small town Alabama, but his case was complicated by being abused as a teen and living the Big Apple’s drug and sex scene. There are exceptions to the rule.

Yankees here often think white northerners especially in the Midwest are more right wing than white southerners and they tout county electoral maps disregarding our heavy color we’ve had dune here since antebellum era

The south has always been this way
It’s fairly cohesive culturally too amongst whites
Areas where the northern invasion has occurred yet again
It’s weakened
Not to say the north doesn’t have stalwarts
They are some just not as many
