An alligator bit a man’s face while he was swimming in a lake near Tampa.
It happened last Thursday at Lake Thonotosassa which is in Hillsborough County.
Fire rescue took the 34-year-old man to the hospital after the alligator bit his face, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission which dispatched a contracted trapper to the lake and is continuing to investigate the incident.

I was going to say 'What's to investigate?' but then I realized Florida man was involved.
LOL Nice!!
Give em hell, Gator !!
How do you feel about the iguana infestation that is taking over S. Florida and moving northward?
So can crystal meth and poverty.
I lived with iggys for a long time. They don’t bother me unless they get tangled up in my radiator fan or take over my favorite outside chair. Then we have issues. I had a big one who I named Paco. He didn’t have a tail and was still 2.5 long. Old dude. He did take over one of our chairs. I didn’t argue. We used to smoke cigars and drink beer at the other chairs while he just sat there listening.
Lake Thonotosassa.
Firefighter from Pasco county. He was training for a triathlon.
There is drone video of the attack.
It’s a wow.

I agree. This is Florida. That dude was dumb.
Since they’re present in all 67 counties, I’ll probably eventually see one while mowing my lawn, in which circumstance, I will promptly leave the lawn mower and go back in the damn house.
You sound smart. But there is a better way:

No alligator picture from Joe Dirt??? This place is slipping.
Even when I was a kid living in FL and spending a lot of time at my Aunt and Uncles house in Tampa you did not swim in the lakes.
