All true. But you have to factor in the strike zone problem Judge continues to have with the umps. He’d have more chances if he didn’t t have so many bogus called strikes.
in the ‘60s I remember waking up the morning of the day of the first world series game each year with butterflies in my stomach & taking my little transistor radio to school so I could secretly catch part of the game. Didn’t matter who was playing.
In 1968, 8th grade, I remember one teacher had in on the radio in his class in when Tigers and Cards played. I was a Tiger fan. The bell rang for the next class, but he let me stay and listen for a few minutes more. I got to hear the call on Northrup’s triple over Flood in Center. Man was I excited! God bless that man; wish I could thank him for that memory today.
We don’t see that in this nation today I don’t think. Sad
When I was in Elementary School in the fifties the teachers had the Series on because they considered it part of History in the making.
I’ve no idea what you mean
Good comment on the Judge strike zone—some umps treat him better than others.
Oh yeah, and btw, he just hit number 55.
“NO steroids? That’s what we all thought about Sosa, Bonds, McGwire, et al.”
I knew he was “juiced up” but always liked to watch Bonds at bat. Had all that plastic armor on and chances were it was going to be a hit of some kind if not a home run.
Every word of that paragraph applies equally well to Barry Bonds.
The only performance enhancing drugs Babe Ruth used were alcohol and tobacco. It has been said he would duck out during games at old Comiskey Park to have a beer and hotdog at McCuddy’s Tavern across the street.

” Probably more Japanese know about how Shohei Ohtani is rewriting the record book than American. “
I’m positive they do thanks to sports news daily reports and the Angels’ games being broadcast in Japan .
I just bought a Colt 45s t-shirt last month.
Wow, but can we get one of the guy flying around in the Astrodome with his jet pack in 1965?
MLB is meaningless. The people that own the teams our enemies.
Any questions?
Anyway, I used to keep it under my pillow when I went to bed and would listen to a lot of Red Sox games (as well as Bruins games) while my parents thought I was sleeping.
Good memories.
I'm sure they were disappointed in you and did not want to confront you for being a Red Sox fan :)
What gets me is Bonds’ use of a mechanical arm in the form of his “arm protection” is never brought up. That thing gave him the perfect swing every AB. A two time cheater. And yes, I’m a Dodger fan
