On today's #NCFWhittle we are joined once again by Professor Doug Stokes, Professor of International Relations at the University of Exeter, and author of the new book "Against Decolonisation: Campus Culture Wars & The Decline of the West".
Following the killing of George Floyd in 2020, a moral panic gripped the US and UK. To atone for an alleged history of racism, statues were torn down and symbols of national identity attacked. Across universities, fringe theories became the new orthodoxy, with a cadre of activists backed by university technocrats adopting a binary worldview of moral certainty, sin and deconstructive redemption through Western self-erasure.
In his hard-hitting book, Prof. Stokes surveys these developments for the first time. He unpacks and challenges the theories and arguments deployed by ‘decolonisers’ in a university system now characterised by garbled leadership and illiberal groupthink. The desire to question the West’s sense of itself, deconstruct its narratives and overthrow its institutional order is an impulse that, ironically, was underpinned by a more confident and assured Western hegemony, which is now waning and under great strain. If its light continues to dim, who or what will carry the torch for human freedom and progress?

Because they are scared.
They know that we know.

Our parasitic new elite is a kakistocracy.
They truly are parasites. What does a parasite do to the host when left unchecked?
Yep, they slowly kill the host by choking off its needed nourishment, its lifeblood, its defenses. In the end the parasite dies because it has killed the Golden Goose that kept it alive in the first place.
In this case we see the 10 global owners controlling government and turning it into a weaponized Marxist commie state by squeezing everything like a Boa Constrictor until it all dies. They clearly didn’t think this through because somewhere along the line the people who are still here wake up to see what they did, then they extract justice. I’ll leave the method to your imagination but it won’t be pretty either way.
Yes, I did mix metaphors on purpose.
The rules are simple:
they lie to us,
we know they’re lying,
they know we know they’re lying,
but they keep lying to us,
and we keep pretending to believe them.
I had to look that word up. It's so on the money with our current government and parasite's.
kakistocracy kăk″ĭ-stŏk′rə-sē, kä″kĭ- noun
Government by the least qualified or most unprincipled citizens.
Government by the worst men in the state: opposed to aristocracy, government by the best men.
Government by the worst men.
When I saw ‘Whittle’ I assumed Bill Whittle. Bit of a surprise to see this Peter. But it’s very interesting. I liked the author’s comment that he looked at how the young men went into WWII, & he couldn’t justify not standing against what amounts to words. We, as conservatives, have too often been silent & not spoken the truth as we didn’t want to be called mean or racist or whatever. And now it’s almost too late to fight off these insane ideologies.
.
I would add that there now are SO MANY people raised in complete luxury that they have never had a serious worry about learning a trade or supporting themselves or their families.
They are set forever. Their progeny is set forever.
So they have nothing to do in their lives. Nothing to accomplish.
Boomers in the 60s learned Maslow's Triangular hierarchy of meeting needs: food, shelter, water at the bottom, and more rarefied and luxurious at the top.
At the very top is 'Self Actualization' where people have all their needs met.
Trouble is, BAD things happen when one's every need is met. Such a person becomes a tyrant in the extreme: Lazy, irrational, irresponsible, vain, decadent, etc.
Problem with the world now is we have too many people like that. Way more than a percent or two. The wealth is hidden. And they are causing a lot of trouble.
I hadn’t looked at it like that before. It’s true. These people truly are just parasites even if they do nothing at all but of course they want to be relevant in some way that makes them look good at dinner parties. Makes them look good to their parasite peers.
They chose poorly.
I get most of the meme but I don’t know who the guy in the gray t-shirt is supposed to be. Can you tell us?
Obviously the commie state (government) and money people (bankers and big businesses) are on the other side of the rope from the patriots.
I’m not 100% sure but the symbol on his shirt appears to be an ancient Roman tool called a “fasces” or bundle of sticks surrounding an axe. It was carried around by politicians/ soldiers etc to show their power or authority.
When Mussolini started the new sort of socialism in pre-ww2 Italy he picked up the old symbol and used it and soon they were called “Fascists”.
Thanks B.
