What Jones did to these people is outrageous and indefensible. So why do you act like *he* is the victim?

And certainly we do not need to be defending the Leftist “alt right” - not the friends of America in any way. Just as collectivist as any communist. Did you not see Dinesh DSouza’s interviews / profiles of their views?

The words of conservatives (I.e. people who believe in the US constitution) are violence; the violence of liberals (ultraradical Marxist tyrants) is protected speech.

Precisely.

Perhaps, but I wouldn’t take a billion dollars to go through what he put them through.

The idea was to silence and then wipe out Alex Jones. While he is widely ridiculed here and elsewhere, and sometimes deserves it, the idea is to do the same thing to every other non-woke radio host, podcast host, tv panel guest, columnist,
book author and magazine contributor.

Instead of “ha, ha, that guy isn’t me. I’m okay.” remember the famous progression:

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

—Martin Niemöller
who was “an outspoken critic of Hitler’s interference in the Protestant Church. He spent the last eight years of Nazi rule, from 1937 to 1945, in Nazi prisons and concentration camps.”
From the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust website.

Defamed the parents of those whose children were murdered in the school shootings and was rightfully found liable when they sued for defamation.

And some here defend it as ‘free speech’ and ‘opinion.’ It was not opinion, nor free speech. He made false statements that defamed these people, on top of everything else they had gone through.

That was the problem, nobody proved there was a death. I didn’t see any bodies, I saw no ambulances. That skinny little thing was such a good shot that he killed everyone he shot at. Nobody was taken in an ambulance, no triage was used, no surgeries, no ALMOST saved one... all dead, no wounded. The Coroner came to the scene and pronounced instead of having bodies brought to a morgue. Yeah, nothing wrong there.

You can’t lie, if you don’t know the truth. If lying is a crime, why aren’t climate scientists, teachers, doctors, pharmaceutical companies, CNN, NBC, CBS, NYT, Washington Post and reporters in jail or in court for slander?

My entire first paragraph is true, except for the first and last sentences. They were opinions. Am I required by law to believe something, and if I speak out be liable for my thoughts? That is the nub of the Alex Jones trial. He believes differently, probably because there really are no facts but what MSM told us.

Yes, you are right. His crime involved words and opinions.

Please see my post #44 below.

That’s ridiculous to compare what Jones did to that “progression.” To not hold Jones accountable would lead to a progression. It was inexcusable and it was the tort of defamation, for which he was found liable. Jones is not a victim.

Absurd. Not right at all.

You people are the Left made over. Create victims out of those who actually victimized others.

Sorry to disagree but Trump stands in the space between outright totalitarian destruction of our constitutional republic with all our freedoms gone, and us. And Alex Jones and others have that role in freedom of speech.

In my opinion most of what Alex Jones has promulgated is wrong but the strategy behind ruining him financially and then getting him off the air and podcasts is like the way opponents of Hitler were silenced and then killed.

We disagree although I have seen other posts of yours which I have admired in the past.

These days if the guy you like is found guilty, then the system is wrong. And there must be a conspiracy to “get them.”

The fact that this man was a nasty blowhard..doesn’t matter because he likes Trump. It’s that simple.

Who will these people blame when Trump is found guilty?

Are you defending lawfare against Jones? Even if what he said was untrue, the punishment is far from just. And as Jones describes the case, the judge in Texas declared him guilty from the start and denied him the ability to defend himself. These same tactics are being used by the Federal Justice Department and state level district attorneys in New York and Georgia to silence and impoverish Trump. Then we can look at the treatment of the January 6th protesters, many of whom have been subject to conditions akin to the Soviet Gulag, including beatings, deprivation of sleep, "diesel therapy", and solitary confinement, and compare that to the minimal punishment inflicted on the BLM and Antifa members during the George Floyd riots, or for that matter, the treatment the pro-Palestinian protesters who held a sit-in at the Capitol last week will receive. The Capitol Police gassed, clubbed, and shot the January 6th group, but did little against the pro-Palestinian protesters.

The enemies of America are making examples of Trump, Jones, and the January 6th protesters to intimidate opposition to their plans to make America unrecognizable.

Re: 46

Thanks for your perspective. I've only been listening to Alex Jones for the past 5 months, or so, and I've found his Infowars shows to be very informative. He'll often take some 'way out' there positions, but they often turn out to be correct.
I really don't know what happened in his Sandy Hook broadcasts. He makes some short references to them, from time to time (I presume he can't talk too much about them in detail - due to the legal process), but I got the impression that he only made his 'over the top' hypothesis, once, and it was immediately after the event. I.e., long ago.
Thanks for your comments, because I discount the bleatings of the Deep State 3 Amigos - who always want to discredit opinions that don't conform to the official narrative. Alex Jones may have been way off in his original hypothesis, or maybe not. But the fact is that the Narrative spinners want him destroyed - the first Amendment be damned.

They admitted they were scripted, or fake, in order to avoid the lawsuits. Like 35 years ago.

"Jones claimed no one was killed at Sandy Hook, it was all fake, the children and parents were all hired actor to drive visits to his website and listeners to his program. He’s despicable."

In a free country "dispicable" people would be free to express themselves too.
