“They should have mentioned smoking sections everywhere”

Smoking on commercial airliners.

I remember the little ashtrays built right into the armrests.

How about the fax machine, where you fed the paper onto a rotating cylinder, and pressed send.

No need to wonder, extra chemicals heated on your skin, repeatedly, likely not the best idea.

The 70’s sucked musically, other then some left-over 60’s bands and new stylistic music like Fleetwood Mac. I was one of those people chanting, “Die Disco, Die”.

Erector sets, stretch Armstrong along with silly putty were fun. We were pretty poor so the erector set was a prized possession for me. I’d make helicopters that wouldn’t fly of course because of the weight but was still cool with the motor.

Calvin Klein and Jordashe jeans, moon boots, Jarts. An endless list of stuff I remember and miss.

My Pet Rock from the 70’s is still living.

It was nearly as old as dirt when you got it.

Wasn’t threes company one of the first with a gay guy?

No. Jack Tripper only pretended to be a pervert so he could stay with two women. Preposterous plot.

"SOAP" (also '70s) comes to mind.

Ok. I’m 72.

Chemistry sets!
Erector sets!
Making gunpowder!
Water rockets!
Estes rockets!
Banana bikes!
Minibikes!
Hula hoops, frisbees (plastics!)
BB Guns!
Cap guns (fanner 50)!
Heathkit radio, stereo!
REAL science fiction (Asimov, Heinlein, Dick, Niven, etc)!

To name a few... ;)

We had Qwip machnes in our office. Rotating cylinder paper was coated, poor quality. Link to the Ford museum. https://www.thehenryford.org/collections-and-research/digital-collections/artifact/7198
Crap I’m old. I remembered the blue mimeo sheets in grade and high school. Smelled like bananas to me.

A rock station I listened to growing up had “dread” cards. Detroit Rockers Engaged in the Abolition of Disco. WRIF had a great morning show.

there weren’t smoking sections, people just smoked everywhere

Depends on the state. People certainly smoked at work and in other people's homes.

They go too far back with lots of this stuff
The 60’s were over, except for some leftover hippies.

Up to 73 was lots of leftover 60’s
Then lots of things were moving as well, especially closing the Gold window in 71, Withdrawal in ‘73, abandoning the Hemi Cuda and Boss 429, World Trade Center goes up, no more free tuition in Cali, Glo-Bull Cooling was then, on and on on on . . .
It was a very different time-

Anarchy in the UK
Black Flag
Ziggy Stardust
Born To Run
Ramones
Steely Dan

Many today are shocked to still be alive
