This is for everybody who grew up in the 60's and 70's, what did you think 2024 would be like.

I thought The Jetsons, but now we have she/him, and EV's that don't work, and politicians and elitist, who want to shut down farms.

never figured on tranny kids and wholesale ghey-ification of men; or the wholesale fragmentation of society by mass media.

think pretty much everything else could be foreseen.

Lava lamps were more ‘60s. The picture of the kid watching TV was definitely well past the ‘70s, given the style of TV and stereo.

They should have mentioned smoking sections everywhere, reel-to-reel tape decks, steel garbage cans, banana seat bicycles, earth shoes, I could go on.

I hit adulthood in the late 1960’s. My wife and I have a lava lamp. The article forgot CB radios that became ubiquitous because of the 55 speed limit resulting from the gas shortages.

The next couple decades will be like what we thought the next couple decades would be like after seeing the Jetsons in the 60’s.

That was one of elon musk’s points. about 2000 he started asking what happened to the big space travel future we thought would happen.

Now he’s making that future.

AI and fusion are going to make it really science fictiony.

Ah. The old ditto machine. Our teachers would pass around papers fresh off the printer...and we would try to get a buzz off the fumes.

Ditto machines? What the article describes seems like mimeograph machines and I remember them from the 60s, not the 70s.

There was a series called “The 21st Century” that aired back in the 60’s. It would be interesting to see it again.
