Mitch McConnell's Retirement Announcement has Neutered Him Politically and He Must Go Away Now

Sen. Mitch McConnell's retirement announcement has rendered him into a lame duck that cannot effectively fight for America and stop the totalitarian "Democratic" Party. Who is going to try to make a deal with Mitch McConnell unless the deal entails McConnells preemptive surrender?

This act of unnecessary self-castration by McConnell is emblematic of the disease epitomized by the Bush, Romney, and Cheney crime families. Only someone who wanted to lose would come up with a stupid stunt like this. The dirty fingerprints of the quisling wing of the Uniparty are all over this mess. As useless as McConnell already was it is even worse because McConnell is no longer an acting Senate Majority Leader and is just a useless placeholder.

Stick a fork in McConnell, he is done.

Who won this forum thinks that McConnell should just go away now never to be heard from again?

Agreed. He needs to stand down, immediately.

Mitch will go away when he wants to.

People need to accept that reality.

You are correct. He is useless as a Minority Leader; his power to persuade, convince, effectively legislate drains away daily. The Senate Republican caucus must meet immediately to replace him since he is not a leader anymore!

Tricky call. Beshear(D) will replace him with a DEMOCRAT if he steps down. Republicans should be working Kentucky to hold a special election if he steps down or we will be stuck with a Democrat till 2028.

Re: 6 - I thought that could not do that in Kentucky due to a state law that says a replacement has to be from the same party?

It would be better if McConnell just retired and went away and let Democrat Beshear appoint his replacement. At least then we would know that we are dealing with a globalist communist sellout.

The GOP senators need to replace McConnell even if McConnell has threatened to retire and throw the seat to the “Democratic” Party. It’s just better that he is gone.

“...a lame duck that cannot effectively fight for America and stop the totalitarian “Democratic” Party.”

He never could on either effort; he was and is, just lowlife RINO CRAP.

I do not recall a senate leader stepping down, or dieing while serving as leader.
I recall several in the house, DeLay & others, but not the senate

What’s the procedure ? It surely requires a vote, rather than #2 moving up.

I look forward to January when the R senate make-up will be slightly more AmFirst/MAGA/populist...or perhaps seriously moreso. A leader who was not a member of the uni-party would be most welcome.

Besher has promised to appoint a democrat if he steps down. This is despite the recently passed law stating otherwise. Can he get away with it? Will the courts decide?

What I’m saying is that the democrats fight.

It is funny how this comes after the mysterious death of his sister in law.

It is likely a coincidence but never underestimate the ruthlessness of the Chicoms.

And why is he announcing it now instead of just waiting until closer to the time.

Would not make much difference but if Mitch leaves now the rat Governor will ignore the law and appoint a rat replacement, he has said so.

After viewing his voting record during the Reagan years, my opinion was he overstayed his welcome by several decades.
