"FR (Free Republic) is you."
OK.
So it wasn't FR who had made the post, but a member of FR.
For a moment I had thought that FR were the initials of the author.
I thought the Gore information was interesting too. So I did a search and found the text of Al Gore's "blatant disregard" speech from September 29, 1992 here:
http://www.mit.edu/afs/net/user/tytso/usenet/nptn/campaign92/dems/15
A couple other quotes from that speech:
"The Reagan/Bush Administration was also prepared to overlook the fact that the terrorist who masterminded the attack on the Achille Lauro and the savage murder of American Leon Klinghoffer fled with Iraqi assistance. Nor did it matter that the team of terrorists who set out to blow up the Rome airport came from Baghdad with suitcase bombs."
"There might have been a moment's pause for reflection when Iraqi aircraft intentionally attacked the USS Stark in May 1987, killing 37 sailors -- but the Administration smoothed it over very fast."
thanks for the link faq, very interesting, I guess to be a liberal the first requirement is to be an utter and total hypocrite.
The Weekly Standard ..?? I don't think so. And the writer, Stephen Hayes is always very accurate about this kind of stuff .. much more so than most.
"How dou you attack the Pakistani Embassy in Pakistan?(see the italics chronology)>"
LOL!
You build one and then you blow it up. LOL!
"We know about this relationship not from Bush administration assertions but from internal Iraqi Intelligence Service (IIS) documents recovered in Iraq after the war--documents that have been authenticated by a U.S. intelligence community long hostile to the very idea that any such relationship exists."
This oft-repeated fact is troubling. Why did our intelligence have this attitude? There have been some leftist elements in US intelligence. I have high hopes that a cleanup is occuring in the CIA under Goss. I hope he gets enough support from Bush to follow through in the face of the opposition he is sure to receive from our Leftist press and the Democrats.
good quote.
Wow! An Iraqi infantryman traveled to Afghanistan and joined the Taliban! Sounds very high level. Saddam certainly must have had a hand in that.
"Days later Bruce Riedel of the National Security Council staff also emailed Berger, warning that "Saddam Hussein wanted bin Laden in Baghdad.""
The ironic thing here is, bin Laden probably didn't relocate to Iraq because he knew no one could trust the crazy bastard Saddam.
"GW needs to read this on national tv."
a great idea!
Bush, however, seems to think it is OK to "move on" from the Saddam stuff. But he is wrong, because the left has not moved on. This whole thread is filled with an unbelievable amount of great information. One could write a book just utilizing the stuff on this thread---and someone should!
"I like this little snippet - "
Yes, its a gem.
Booked and Bumped.
"Rove should resign."
I agree.
I always thought it was him the source.
Whether he resigns or not he's in deep trouble. I hope the President has his name in the immunity list because he's gonna be spending many years in prison.

Well .. we were discussing it here on FR and agreed that if Rove had really been the one who had leaked her name, it would have been a big blowup BEFORE THE 2004 election. Since that didn't happen .. we all knew it wasn't Rove.
The next day on Rush's program - he mentioned the same thing.
Excuse me, I'm beginning to rant.
We need to stay the course in Iraq, or we will pay dearly later.( not that we aren't paying dearly now)
Haven't been able to get a copy of Stephen Hayes " The Connection" but it probaly has a good bit of the stuff in it, at least the early stuff.
Well, this is uncomfortable.
How did you ever get the idea that the American people would have supported turning on our ally, the USSR, at the end of a successful war? Would never have happened. This is just a silly dream.
Bump for later read.
