"Minuteman" Jim Gilchrist is my prospective opponent for California's 48th District U.S. House Rep. special election. Does anyone know what his stance is on the Iraq War? I for one firmly support the President and our operations in Iraq. What is Gilchrist's position on the war?
Thank you, J. Scott Davis
Torie; John Campbell makes no mention in support of our military effort in fighting terrorism on his homepage. On a further look, though, he does offer support for the war on terror at the "issues" link of his homepage (enclosed below):
http://www.campbellforcongress.com/issues/
No, quite the opposite. I'm to Rush's right. I think Rush is too willing to apologize for the Big Government tendencies of the Republican Party, which he didn't used to be (until somewhere along the line he morphed in his own view from "radio personality" to "commentator.")
The main theme of Gilchrist's American Independent Party is to oppose sending our troops to wars as it states at the top of their party's homepage. That's a liberal leftist theme! You are defending Gilchrist and his party and thus you have liberal beliefs as well.
You're the one who's pro-abortion, among other liberal positions that have been exposed here.
As we have pointed out REPEATEDLY, Mr. Gilchrist has said that he believes we must finish the job in Iraq. I think we'd all like to see the job done right, but done as soon as we can possibly do it.
I keep asking you, do you think B-1 Bob Dornan would be supporting Jim Gilchrist if he thought that Gilchrist or the AIP was liberal, as you make it out to be?
BTW, asserting the same thing over and over with no evidence, name-calling, and then insisting that that is the final argument is a typical liberal tactic. You talk like a liberal, you have the condescension of a liberal, you use liberal debate tactics, you take liberal positions on numerous issues. What am I supposed to conclude from that?
Here is some more of the platform of the "liberal" AIP:
Stop reckless spending, including foreign aid, and take care of America's domestic needs;
End debt financing of both Federal and State governments;
Get rid of the Federal income tax, and restore a tariff based revenue system;
Reduce immigration, and stop all government subsidies to illegal aliens; no driver's licenses for illegals;
Defend America's moral values; keep God in the pledge of allegiance;
Protect the right to life of the innocent unborn;
Support high standards in education, including encouragement of private schools and home schooling;
Stop the rape of consumers and taxpayers by the energy/utility monopolies;
Defend Second Amendment rights;
Restore a debt free, interest free money system;
Uphold traditional marriage and family values
Now, you may argue, as many Republicans do, about the practicality of achieving some of these things, but they are certainly not liberal positions.
On another thread, he's trashing Jim Gilchrist, trying to make conservatives think that Gilchrist is not one of us.
TBP;
You need to review post #510 here which CLEARLY provides evidence of the extremely liberal stance of Gilchrist's anti-war American Independent Party (Constitution Party).
There you go falsely trying to make Gilchrist's party appear anything but liberal. They are liberal. Their platform clearly states:
"The "war on terror" is not a proper excuse for perpetual U.S. occupation of foreign lands."
TBP, that is as liberal as it gets. Well, atleast along the lines of the Green Party and the Dems.
I'll have to get back with you on the Bob Dornan issue.
You'e already outted yourself as a pro-abortion, pro-affirmative action liberal.
You've endeavored to deceive FReepers by pretending to be a candidate when you're not.
You're slandering a good man and a great American, Jim Gilchrist, as a racist, when nothing could be further from the truth.
I don't know why anybody would believe anything you say here, or why I just wasted another three minutes of my life even talking to you.
Later.
EV figured this poser out early on.
Don't waste your time on him.
In continuing support for our troops defending our freedom worldwide and providing them with the fighting tools that they need, allow me to briefly discuss my views on fixing the budget and social security.
A major issue in the race is the dangers and cost of immigration. First, immigration officials need to be held acountable in their job performance and effectively enforce the law. They need the tools to do their job, as well as, a movement by the courts to support this enforcement. Aside from criminals also entering the country illegally, there simply is not enough jobs to suddenly go around to accommondate large groups of illegals, and it creates many social welfare issues.
Far to many citizens commit tax evasion. This requires encouraging the honesty of citizens, as well as, thorough law enforcement and audit procedures to be put inplace to curb this problem.
Our qualified doctors are being driven out of business due to frivilous medical malpractice lawsuits. Physicians can't afford insurance. Lawyers need to make a stand and aid in curbing this problem by placing a ceiling on lawsuits. Something needs to give including stopping rising legal fees for medical malpractice. This entire whitecollar arena needs to work together to save the medical profession. In addition, doctors need to be held to a proper standard of practice. An increased awareness needs to be implemented to help with the shortage of qualified nurses. This problem will increase with the aging of baby boomers if we don't train more nurses.
I support fixing our social security system so that our elderly citizens are insured the funds that they worked for all of their lives. One great strategy is to allow younger citizens to invest their social security payments into investments. Logical investments energize our economy.
One special interest group often overlooked is our veterans of the armed forces. We need a program which provides for veterans to open their own business. We need laws which aid our veterans in gaining management training positions. Veterans of the armed forces need to be allowed to share in our nation's wealth that they defended.
Please support my drive to Congress,
J. Scott Davis
O.K.
But with gas prices the way they are, it'd probably be cheaper for you to fly.
When you get there, you'll find it right off of Constitution Avenue.
They give nice tours every morning...
/sarcasm
All me to put my hat in the ring further. While Gilchrist's
exposing illegal immigration is a benefit to our nation, his party's 100% opposition to the Iraq War is liberalism that we cannot have in office while troops are in harms way.
None-the-less, allow me to point out an issue involving illegal immigration, while at the same time, help to place less of a burden on the federal budget. A very high number of illegals are entering the U.S. with fake passports. You can expect that these and other illegals have the ability to successfully commit social security fraud. This situation is a major factor that causes our federal budget to climb.
To curb this crime requires strict immigration policy, tooling agents with proper necessities to investigate effectively, a willing public to fight the probelm, and enforcement in the courts.
Per the Secretary of State's office, I have until September 20 to file. You mention this because you are aware of the force that I pose in this election.
In the primary against Republicans, I'll debate whomever I please. I'm not participating to be an also ran, I'm going for the total victory. Thus, I'll say whatever I please about Jim Gilchrist's campaign and that his party provides a liberal 100% opposition to the Iraq War. Per Gilchrist's party's platform, they also indicate what would have amounted to opposing the Vietnam War. That's a liberal philosophy.
The ballot qualification process closed on August 22nd.
You did not make the ballot.
You have until September 20 to file as a write-in candidate...a fact that you have signally failed to acknowledge here on FR, even when confronted.
Sorry, you're not a force in anything.
But good luck.
Your continued lashing out at me indicates the force that I possess for this race. A vote is a vote regardless of how earned!
I'm the most colorful prospective candidate for this election. That's why they want me hid under a rock so that the public will not rightfully be made aware of my presence.
You keep twisting the facts around. Gilchrist's party's platform is 100% in opposition to the Iraq War as indictaed on their homepage. That's liberalism while I am Pro-America!!
'Prospective' = 'Imaginary'
If you had some military experience, you might understand why I'm a colorful candidate! I took time off from my personal endeavors to dedicate some time to the defense of our country. This duty provided me a firsthand look with how the government works. One of my proudest achievements was in earning the "Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star."
I thus have a gift that many can't claim.
Never heard of a "attack someone not even running against me in the primary" stragedy for getting the party nomination. Good luck.
Maybe we can get the Dem rivals to spend the primary badmouthing the Green Party candidate. Wouldn't that be fun?
You sure your name isn't 'Todd'?
I'm not out to trash the right, I'm out to win the entire election. Thus, I have to expose to the voters that Jim Gilchrist's party platform is 100% opposed to the Iraq War (and with the philosophy that would have amounted to opposition the Vietnam War).
The Demcratic candidate, who is a college professor, also presents an agressive anti-war stance in his campaign.
This is not what we want in office during wartime while troops give their lives for our freedom.
J. Scott Davis, Pro-America
The whole point is that I have a wide range of exposure in both the white and blue collar worlds. Combined with military experience and much participation in athletics, this makes me the most colorful prospective candidate in the entire race.

"A fence? Is that practical?"
Uh, you're running for congress. Shouldn't you be informed on the issues?
