The Left thinks dark skinned people are not worth the sacrifice of a single American life. And these are the same people who laud civil rights at home. But Vietnamese, Cambodians and Iraqis are undeserving of such niceties because America is a superior society. Now I understand how the likes of Jihad Cindy and David Duke have so much in common. They really do believe that only the White Man is fit for freedom.

There is no love between Stormfront and Michael Moore. Radicals unite with the common goal of unseating the status quo.

The moment it falls, the two sides will again be cutting at each other's throats.

" I presume they would favor that the Iraq war end the same way the war in Vietnam ended. I also presume that this means they would not oppose the same fate for the people of Iraq that befell the people of Vietnam and Cambodia after the end of US involvement there, which was one of the more horrible in the sorry annals of twentieth century tyranny"

I think he presumes wrong. I don't think the people holding those signs have any idea what happened when we left Vietnam.

Good post.

The left is and has always been death centered. They do not care who dies where, when, or why, they just want death.

These leftists are an embarrasment to this country.

The crowd in Texas needs to meet the fire hose, IMO.

Wow! Holy Cow! That's quite a question I must admit never occurred to me. Great post. Thanx. This is one reason why Freeperville is my #1 site on the net.

Naive leftists simply blank out reality, in the present and in the past. They are incapable of learning lessons from history.

The movie "The Killing Fields" focuses on the looming horrors of Pol Pot in Cambodia after the American withdrawal, but neither the movie's director nor the most of the audiences who watched it understood that it was, in fact, the "heroic" reporter who was mainly responsible for the killings. If not for his and his fellow reporters' foolish indulgence in pacifist propaganda, we never would have withdrawn from Southeast Asia and the Communist massacres never would have happened.

Somehow or other, however, all the left "remembers" is that the Vietnamese War and its aftermath--the killing fields, the boat people--were all Nixon's fault.

Yes, there is dawdling over the drafting of an Iraqi constitution

One would be wise to remember the "dawdling" (actually, intense wrangling, squabbling, and compromising) that attended the birth of our own Constitution.

Such "dawdling" is a sign of health and vigor in a democracy. It is when a constitution is ramrodded through whole and unchanged that one should be most concerned. For it is then that there is a greater risk that antidemocratic and autocratic forces have engineered an artfully camouflaged putsch, not a democratic Constitution.

RE: Then and now

I have not encountered -- but I have not searched diligently -- any leftist who was active during the Viet Nam war who now feeeeeeeeeels s/he was wrong back then.

Some have "converted" and now say that as conservatives today they were wrong back then, Michael Medved for example.

But even today's leftist supporters of the war to defend against radical Islam like Christopher Hitchens still feeeeeeeeeel that the Viet Nam war was "unjust" and their Ho in Hanoi was right.

Without researching and to the best of my memory "anti-war," pro-Ho activist Joan Baez was the only leftist who expressed any concern for the millions who lost life, liberty, and limb to the Communists. Clearly the other "anti-war," pro-Ho activist knew "the way it is" and were not surprised / disappointed by the carnage or have converted to the right side.

I am befuddled by virtually all claims made by leftist (often mere echoes of our criticism of them, a Leninist stupid trick, I suppose) but one claim can clearly be destroyed by reading post-war accounts by the Communist themselves.

To this day leftist in and out of the MSM proudly claim that "anti-war" activist shortened the war in Viet Nam. Clearly, without doubt, no question -- it encouraged the enemy and prolonged the war for years. The same is happening today.

This is an idiotic argument that only demonstrates the complete control liberal ideas have over national debate and the servile, cringing nature of collaborationist "conservatives". Taken to its logical conclusion it implies America, and white people in general, have some sort of moral obligation, the new white man's burden, to sacrifice themselves wherever non-whites aren't living la dolce vita. It is a blank check for unending liberal imperialism, rooted in the virulent, genocidal racism that believes white people are born wicked and the cause of all that's wrong with the world. The author of this article is an individual who is devoid of ideas and cannot defend his position on Iraq so he falls back on the institutionalized white-hating racism of the ruling establishment. This isn't just a bad and stupid argument it is an evil argument.

By holding this sign, I presume they would favor that the Iraq war end the same way the war in Vietnam ended.

For a long time, I've been trying to think of a way to get this into a catchy slogan, a la PatriotWarrior. Because the logical extrapolation of leftist behavior is that they WANT to see millions of people slaughtered and millions more deprived of freedom and living in abject poverty.

The anti-war people are made up of old hippies who have seen their lifestyle made fun of for 30 years. Trying to stop this war is "seems like old times" to them. It's like a mid-life crisis for hippies. The second component of these people is made up of new hippies - the young brainwashed kids who know very little of Vietnam. To them, Vietnam was a war where we butchered little children for pleasure. Their version of "Vietnam" is in the same vain as "Woodstock". They have no clue what the war was about, the Chinese and Russian elements OR what happened when our leaders decided not to win the war.

If you asked them who murdered 3 million people in the 70's in East Asia, they would tell you American Troops did. They have no clue - this is a game to them. This is a game to the hippies. They say things that sound good to them. They say hateful things to our troops. They actually do not get the fact that each time their words are broadcast on our television, another terrorist thinks his cause is just. There will come a time when the people of this country will wake up and those who aid and abet the enemy (even if they don't realize they're doing it) will be arrested and stripped of their US Citizenship, and sent to live with Hugo Chavez and Castro (since Jesse thinks its a model for the world - he can stay there).
