Why should they pay taxes? Since they are not doing anything in return for the money, it is not earned income. It's a gift. And as you know, there is no gift tax on gifts under $11,000.....PER GIVER. Hmmmm.... (wheels turning....)

This is just a high tech version of the beggars who stand at busy intersections with signs and cups. It must work; otherwise there wouldn't be so many of them.
Somehow I never got interested in beggardom (is that a word?) as a career option.

If they each give me $2 in cash first, then I will send then to requested dollar.

Hey, these guys can't send you to jail if you don't pay them. So right away I gotta like them better than the IRS and Congress.

I have a "please donate" banner on my website and I even have 501(c)(3) tax status, but nobody gives me any money. :(

Somehow I never got interested in beggardom (is that a word?) as a career option. You'd be AMAZAED at how much can be made this way. Not necessarily the "last gaspers", but professional beggars who make a science of it.

I'm not a lawyer, I'd love for 1 to chime in.
I've read about similar ideas in the past & they all have been shut down. On what legal grounds I can't speak authoritatively, but look for things like "non-charitable", "wire fraud", "interstate commerce" "failure to offer a service"....
I'm just confident these guys aren't the 1st to conceive this idea. If it were this easy to get rich... would've been done long before now

Maybe they got the idea from one of the TV evangelists who tried the "God is gonna call me back" ploy to get money.

From the article:
"He [Rob Momary] and Clint Eubanks, who does research and development for a potato-chip manufacturer, were recently discussing money-making ideas and that's when they had a brainstorm. "
I think it was more of a braindrizzle. And these are advertising and marketing people? Geeeeez.

This is just a high tech version of the beggars who stand at busy intersections with signs and cups. It must work; otherwise there wouldn't be so many of them. I watched some of these who set up regularly near my home. Although most people just drive by someone would give them a dollar or two every few minutes. I calculated they probably make $20 to $30 an hour. Not bad and probably better than they could make at a real job.

anyone can open envelopes how do you know they dont have others who will do it?
and what I mean by lazy is the fact they are wanting to MOOCH off other people for monetary gain and not go out and work a REGULAR job like most people is what I am defining as LAZY.
