... Then, in a later thread, which might describe insurgents blowing something up in Iraq, they (FReepers) again continue their diatribe that all Muslims and Arabs are animals and should be killed or 'nuked' ... I get the feeling that most Republicans secretly feel this way about Muslims and Arabs.
No secret here, little fella.
Maybe you can explain to me why one BILLION Muslims can't (or won't) control a few thousand terrorists/"insurgents"?
His problem is typical with libs/'Rats: 9/10 thinking in a 9/11 world. And he knows nothing of Islam.
"It seems that in his haste to get his story by trolling and leaving quickly, he forgot to note that everyone here has their own opinions and not everyone advocates nuking all Muslims."
You got it exactly right. There's great diversity of opinion here, as there is across America. The writer saw and reported what he wanted to see here; he lacked the integrity to report that that didn't support his view.
I think nearly all Freepers would agree that when our soldiers risked (and sometimes gave) their lives to liberate Iraq's 25 million, they certainly did not do it out of hatred and bigotry. There are leftists who seem to think they did. That is paranoid and hateful beyond understanding.
That's a great quiz. Puts Islam right where it belongs.
I've said that on numerous threads - even on this one. Not "nuke mecca" but "nuke 'em" - type stuff. For that I apologize. It's said in (mostly) jest but it could easily be construed by a left-wing pacifist to be a call to nuclear war. It's a little over the top.
I don't think any of us take it seriously, but I'll be more careful. Besides, I've always known that cooler (and smarter) heads prevail in Bush's administration.
Wow! What gravitas! Look at those credentials. What a lightweight this twit makes himself look like. His writing is less than compelling, coming across no better than a bitter Whoopie Goldberg in a diatribe at some awards presentation or some little mealy-mouthed neo-leftist student ranting on about topics with little to no understanding or persuasive conviction.
A true liberal phony...
Here's one for the collection
Something tells me that our new year is off to a good start. Let's just hope this trend continues because I always have fun reading this stuff.
Here's a wise observation from Cvengr that bears repeating.
The only difference is that he attacks others for attacking Islam, while he applies the same method he hates against conservatives.
Happy New Year to you as well, Patricia.

(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie. Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")
let's see. He goes from a few cases of anti-Islamic statements on FR to ...
" In any case, the Republican electorate is virulently anti-Islam and that is a shame. "
Wow, what a lack of logic and evidence!
I'd like to see some polling. I doubt there would be much difference between the parties frankly.
I dont consider myself 'anti-Islamic'. I too know some wonderful people who are Muslim. That doesnt mean I'm blind to the TROP(tm)'s flaws and the extremist clerics who are fomenting terrorism. I *also* know, having read the histories of Muhammed, that calling him a brigand and polygamist is merely being historically accurate. Pedophile? Well, he married a 9-year-old among his 9 wives.
Go figure. Not every Muslim should be measured by that 7th century man's lifestyle, but Islam was shaped by how he lived, and it wasnt the life of a Jesus or a Buddha.
I also think Democracy in Iraq is a wonderful thing, and support the President's policies which have liberated Iraq.
See:
http://freedomstruth.blogspot.com/
"Democratic elections aren't going to turn out to be a good thing here and the Sunnis and Kurds know it. That is why they are protesting these elections tooth and nail. All the protesting and new elections, if they are able to attain them, will not help Sunnis and Kurds overcome the massive Shiite majority in the country."
It's bad enough that he thinks democracy is a BAD THING, but he shows his ignorance here. The Kurds are *happy* with the Dec 15 result. The main Kurdish parties got a solid 50 seats, and that gives them good bargaining position.
Further The Shiite main bloc, the UIA, did *not* appear to get a majority. That is key, because it means that Iraq will have either a Shiite-Kurd alliance or a "national unity government" of all the players.
This DUmmy is right on one thing only: There are unfortunate expressions of anti-muslim/arab sentiment of the 'kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out' variety. I've argued against these sentiments too much and i've noticed that it comes from the 'paleocon' types who DONT WANT US IN IRAQ.
The way I look at it, the liberals think America is not good enough to intervene, the paleocons think the world is not good enough to deserve American blood or teasure.
But some of us patriots think America can and is doing the world good in supporting democracy, and the outcome will be a good thing for us and for the world.
"hysterical exaggeration #1"
What's funny is how he claims FR types are doing it about Muslims - actually minions of
Bin Laden, supporters of Hamas and other thuggish communities, but this guy is doing it about ....
Republicans!
oooh, what a dangerous sect these GOPers are.
"Most practitioners of Islam that I have had the pleasure to know are wonderful, law abiding and hard working people."
Would he ever admit out loud that ...
"Most Republicans that I have had the pleasure to know are wonderful, law abiding and hard working people."
... or does he try to avoid contact with those types entirely?
When Iran throws off the mad mullahs this year, some Iraqi Shiites are gonna have some uncomfortable moments...
"I don't like "nuke mecca" posts. Period, full stop. "
I dont either. Even after a terrorist attack and tempers are up. If it's wrong, and nothing is more wrong than wanting thousands of civilians killed, then dont even say it. Even in jest.
"For that I apologize. It's said in (mostly) jest but it could easily be construed by a left-wing pacifist to be a call to nuclear war. It's a little over the top."
TAKE NOTE: LIBERALS USE "JOKES" LIKE THIS TO TAG THIS AS A HATE SITE. DONT GIVE THEM THE AMMO.
FR rules say: "NO racism or violence in posts." Consider
"I don't think any of us take it seriously, but I'll be more careful."
Good plan. In the 2004 campaign, Jerome Corsi was uncovered as an FR poster and some of his 'jokes' were twisted into getting him labelled as anti-gay, anti-Muslim, etc. etc.
Just dont do it.
