A guest worker program would allow U.S. law enforcement agencies to spend more time focusing on “dangerous” elements “we really worry about,”

This is a very narrow understanding of national security. The impact of millions of undereducated, unassimilating people is just as much a threat to our national security, considering their cultural and economic impact, as that of violent terrorists. Perhaps worse, in the long run.

"What about voting?"

Yes, the illegals here are also voting, thanks to LULAC, La Raza, the Democrats, and the motor-voter laws.

“Not as amnesty, not a reward, but a constructive mechanism to allow migrants in the U.S. to assume a strong labor demand.”

A rose by any other name, and stupid is still stupid.

Nothing wrong with a "guest worker program" as long as it does NOT apply to ANY illegal currently in the USA, or any illegal who comes in after it is instituted. No--it should only apply to those who LEGALLY apply to enter it FROM THEIR HOME COUNTRIES.

The Multi-millions that are already here don't care about laws. What are new laws and programs going to accomplish? Remove them all from this country and We'll talk!

Chertoff is in south TX praising the flood of illegals, while GW is in India praising the outsourcing of US jobs to India.

Bush: Outsourcing painful, but remedy is worse
"It's ... important to remember that when someone loses a job it's an incredibly difficult period for the worker and their families," Bush said in a speech in New Delhi. "It's true that some Americans have lost jobs when their companies move their operations overseas," he said. "Some people believe the answer to this problem is to wall off our economy from the world through protectionist policies. I strongly disagree."

The Bush pesos are regularly printed out and sent by me in the beg letters from the RNC and various politicians of both parties who love the open borders agenda and vote against American interests.

Election Day this year I will stay in bed. It will be the first time that I have chosen not to vote.

It's because of: lack of control of the southern border; illegal immigration; failure to fix social security; spending too much on "pork"; failure to honestly justify the Iraq invasion; appointing Reed as head of Homeland Security; nominating Hariet Miers to USSC; nominating Bernard Kerrick to Homeland Security; overspending and failure to veto; failure to speak out for necessary surveillance; abandoning Scooter Libby; threatening to veto the mishandled ports management issue....just for openers.

If they implement this plan they are sure to sneak through an amnesty for the illegal aliens that are here already.

The guest worker program is pseudo amnesty. Once they become "official guest workers" they are under federal protection, become untouchable and entitled to all rights and privileges enjoyed by legal immigrants and citizens. Every F-in administration pulls this bull chit, under a different name perhaps but the result is the same.

Marshal, Being a newbie, I recommend you familiarize yourself with the rules of this website:
