I don't think I was aware of their use of Ricin....
And you say this document is a 2001 document....?close to a smoking gun...if it is....
None of these single documents has been a "particularly interesting smoking gun here." But thanks to jveritas and the Ray Robison blog, who together are translating these documents before the MSM, we're putting pieces of a puzzle together.
Your point that this could be a defensive Chemical Platoon is valid and probably not a point everyone would have immediately picked up on.
But let's not insult the people who are doing the work (translating the documents) that most of us can't do by whining because they haven't given us a "smoking gun."
Let's keep our translator busy doing the job that only he can do,....the translation....it's a BIG JOB!

I think it is much more than a defensive Chemical Platoon.
The excerpt I posted was from the Iran/Iraq war. Just shows their capabilities, methods and general experience with Biological and Chemical WMD at that time. The document that started this thread was made in 2001. I posted the Iran/Iraq info for informational purposes to aid this discussion.
Those guys who wrote these documents sure didn't miss a thing did they?
If you frequent that site, why not post a link back to the threads here on FreeRepublic.....would be more efficient than asking jveritas to do it....if that is what you meant!
Thanks again for your hard work!
Eyespysomething, may I please be added to your PING list?
The picture on the puzzle is slowly emerging.
I agree, see my comments on the other thread.....
i looked on the army web site and it wasn't clear to me exactly how this document was obtained.
if the freeper doing the translation doesn't want to answer, or doesn't have time to answer, that's not a problem with me.
do you know how and from whom the army obtained the document?
some people seem to assume that the document constitutes proof that the iraqis had chemical weapons in 2001, but it is not clear to me that it does.
before claiming that it constitutes proof, questions about the document itself would need to be answered.
We don't need proof, just enough evidence to justify an inquiry. In this case, the inquiry was already carried out by the US military.
Go here:
This one is a good place to start:
US puts Iraqi documents on the Web ~ MSM acknowledges ...Goal is to speed up translation of files
LOL
I think you're right - IF he thought there were ever a snow ball's chance in h*ll that we would ever have access to his internal papers.
That's what a bloated ego will getcha...(I hope that television is still going outside Saddam's cell - I feel good just thinking of him watching these docs being translated and knowing just what horrific things he did and was planning on that just might be the next document that sees the light of day. His mama shoulda taught him the old saw: "What goes 'round, comes 'round.")
"This document is a clear indication that Saddam never stopped his WMD program at least up to the year 2001 as the document show because there was still and active Chemical Platoon in Al Qadisia Air base. "
thank you.
And just who would Saddam be protecting against in a chemical war....He had them, he used them...
I agree completely, especially since we know for a FACT that he had chemical weapons and used them.
Keep up the great work!
