Hundreds of U.S. soldiers entered the Shiite stronghold of Sadr City on Sunday in the first major push into the area since an American-led security sweep began last month around Baghdad.
Soldiers conducted house-to-house searches, but met no resistance in a district firmly in the hands of the Madhi Army militia led by radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, said Lt. Col. David Oclander.

"Soldiers conducted house-to-house searches, but met no resistance in a district firmly in the hands of the Madhi Army militia led by radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, said Lt. Col. David Oclander."
Now this is the same Muqtada al-Sadr who ran with his tail between his legs to Iran, leaving "his people" to fend for themselves?
they are just going to lie low until the US leaves.
wonder how his relocation to iran impacts his credibility with his followers, if it does at all.
Popularity means very little in Iraq. What matters is you have weapons and followers who are well paid and dedicated.
Actually, well paid.. As long as they get paid they will remain dedicated..
Also, the privilege of robbing and killing anyone they like..
Bump.
"We've just created a few hundred thousand more terrorists out of innocent people who would have loved us if we hadn't started this ill-conceived, illegal war."
In regards to this post, Your tagline says it for me.
Who said that?
From a New Englander. Shocking.
"Who said that?"
I didn't see that phrase in the article either, but that sentiment is popular among the Leftists.
Look up 'created' in these two links for example - I won't bother repeating their drivel as I don't want to be associated with it.

Amen.
Just anticipating what some of the usual Blame America crowd will have to say.
Man, it doesn't take much to wad up some people's skivvies.
Perhaps I should switch back to my previous tagline - "Some people are too stupid to be ashamed".
You got it.
From an American. Shocking.
What makes you think my skivvies got wadded?
Usually quotations are attributed.
Your initial phrasing had me going first, too.
Until I realized that it was too early - not enough caffeine. Perhaps, next time, if it is before noon anywhere, you need to cite the person saying the drivel or add or a /s off tag..
Everybody shake hands and carry on;)
