She isn't saying she's supporting the plan, but rather supporting the governor. Parsing further, she is only supporting governors LIKE Spitzer.

The statement is filled with weasel words. After all, she is a Clinton.

Anybody who's thinking of voting for this snake has to wonder if his/her English is good enough to understand any speech or policy given by President Ho She Marks Is Is.

“Senator Clinton supports governors like Governor Spitzer who believe they need such a measure to deal with the crisis caused by this administration’s failure to pass comprehensive immigration reform,’”

You need to parse whatever the Clintons' say. Down the road you know that she will change the "meaning" of this statement, which really is a slam at Bush and the failure to pass comprehensive immigration reform. She is still having it both ways. She can still say that she does not support giving illegal aliens drivers licenses.

Here is the best plan I seen from a GOP candidate on immigration It will blow Hillary out of the water and force her to take specific positions on the issue.

As someone who works in a grassroots immigration reform group, it does sound familiar. Your suggestions are in tune with ours. Kris Kobach, someone we have been personally dealing with over the years on this issue, was appointed as Thompson's advisor on immigration. I can see his hand in this plan. It is the best I have seen even though Hunter and Tancredo have been better on this issue in terms of their voting records.

Here's hoping Thompson has had an epiphany on this issue and uses it appropriately against Hillary. It is her Achilles heel and could become the defining issue of the campaign along with health care. I am hoping that the election results in NoVA next week will send a strong message to the candiates of both parties that the public is energized and angry about the political elites' approach to the problem.

I posted this on another thread, but it fits on this one also:

As to Spitzer, the reason Hillary hedged and tried to defend Spitzer on the Dem debate last nite was because she is behind what he is doing. They are in cahoots. It’s all about getting the illegals vote. Especially if Rudy Guiliani is the candidate, and NY would be up for grabs. Having the illegal aliens voting will help make sure Hillary wins. Spitzer will throw himself on his sword to try to get this vote fraud licensing fiasco thru for Hitlery. She’s probably promised him some position or payoff if she wins the Presidency. To me this is so obvious.

The same attempt will be made here in Illinois where I live. Rod Blagojevich, our Dem Governor is also trying to get licenses for illegals through our State legislature. For the same reason, illegal votes for the Dems, and in particular Hillary. And Blago will then benefit from whatever the payoff is.

Judicial Watch just filed suit against Spitzer over this licensing voter fraud attempt today. Dobbs will keep this on the front burner, and so should every Pub who can walk and talk at the same time (I know, that leaves some out, like our President and Jerk, oops, I mean Chertoff, who is Elliott Spitzer’s good friend, I might mention).

Moreover, the fraudulent vote that Spitzer delivers will multiply by more illegals and their family members that perhaps, will be made legal during a Clinton II administration.

That will possibly guarantee a fat base for Spitzer's run for the presidency in '16, he hopes.

What I find incongruous is the fact the Spitzer plan includes three different licenses, including one specifically for the “undocumented.” Why would any illegal obtain a document that clearly indicates that they are here illegally and even provides their address? I would assume it would take a great leap of faith by the illegal to sign up. Or have they become so brazen and secure that they believe that they can’t be deported?

I’ve been told, although this is not verified, that the illegal could then take that license to another state, and switch it out in that state with one of theirs, thus now having a license that does not have the reference to being an illegal alien. In other words, the “illegals” license would be a means to an end, to go to another state and swap it out for a new license in that state, now “illegal” free.

But wouldn’t the other states know that the NY license was only for illegals? I can’t imagine that the other states wouldn’t become aware of it should NY ever start issuing them.

I believe they have to honor other states’ licenses, regardless. But I will research this, and post when I find out more.

It is not a matter of just honoring them, it is a matter of knowing that these unique NY licenses are given to illegals exclusively. Unless that particular state has the same policy, I don't see how they would knowingly honor them.

>>I’ve been told...[snip]... the illegal could then take that license to another state, and switch it out in that state with one of theirs<<

That is true, according to the AZ DMV - if someone brings a license in from another state and wants it transferred to AZ, it will be changed - no questions asked.

Her/Their disdain for and belief in the gullibility of the average legal citizen of The United States is without end. It is unfortunate that these beliefs have been confirmed over and over again.

Re: Post 75

If you had an employee on the take like the lady in Memphis that was selling illegals driver’s license. She ended up dead, by the way.

"Mrs. Clinton’s advisers said that she had not studied either plan,"

And she endorses it? How dumb can one get. I agree with you, she just might be "toast"> Even New Yorkers aren't going to like this.
