As I said at the GOE rally, the Iraq Veterans Against The War are out to smear this generation of military as "babykillers" the way their mentors the Vietnam Veterans Against the War did during the Vietnam era. Once again, our country needs Winter Soldiers. Don't let the Vietnam Veterans Against the War call TWO generations of vets "babykillers".
But I never expected that they'd give away their intent by calling it "Winter Soldier" just like their mentors.
Winter Soldier was a series of 109 interviews that were turned into a book and film. According to B.G. Burkett's investigation of Winter Soldier in his book Stolen Valor, many were phony soldiers that never served, others like VVAW leader Al Hubbard served but not in Vietnam, John Kerry served in Vietnam but not in Cambodia during Christmas under orders from Nixon as claimed and others served in Vietnam but had their stories refuted by others.
The Iraq Veterans Against the War ARE the NeoJohns, the Kerry Wannabes and they were mentored by the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, in particular VVAW leaders David Cline and Bill Perry.
There's the direct links to their the web pages at the bottom of this excerpt: In 1971, over one hundred members of Vietnam Veterans Against the War
gathered in Detroit to share their stories with America. Atrocities
like the My Lai massacre had ignited popular opposition to the war,
but political and military leaders insisted that such crimes were
isolated exceptions. The members of VVAW knew differently.
Over three days in January, these soldiers testified on the systematic
brutality they had seen visited upon the people of Vietnam. They
called it the Winter Soldier investigation, after Thomas Paine's
famous admonishing of the "summer soldier" who shirks his duty
during difficult times. In a time of war and lies, the veterans who
gathered in Detroit knew it was their duty to tell the truth.
Over thirty years later, we find ourselves faced with a new war. But
the lies are the same. Once again, American troops are sinking into
increasingly bloody occupations. Once again, war crimes in places
like Haditha, Fallujah, and Abu Ghraib have turned the public
against the war. Once again, politicians and generals are blaming
"a few bad apples" instead of examining the military policies that
have destroyed Iraq and Afghanistan.
In March of 2008, Iraq Veterans Against the War will gather in our
nation's capital to break the silence and hold our leaders
accountable for these wars. We hope you'll join us, because yours
is a story that every American needs to hear.

On the weekend of 13-15 March, 2008, Iraq Veterans Against the War will
assemble history's largest gathering of US veterans of Iraq and
Afghanistan, as well as Iraqi and Afghan survivors. They will
provide first hand accounts of their experiences and reveal the
truth of occupation.

Contact every veteran you know, especially Vietnam vets, and help put a stop to their plans to smear this generation by exposing IVAW as the VVAW's Junior Varsity.
They led the way, I followed.
And I'm proud to stand with those who decided not to let the Walter Reed protest go unchallenged; who removed the Code Pink haters from the main gates so our wounded heros don't have to see traitors.
Proud to stand with those who will take this information and see that it is distributed and then come together and fight so that this generation isn't smeared by the radicals as they did the Vietnam military.
Proud to work with those who saw to it that every anti-war demo in DC had a counter, to show the pubkic the moonbats don't speak for America.
Proud to know these folks who gave generously of their time and energy and money to do those kinds of things. Who come out despite the long hours and bad weather.
Proud of every FREEP that is organized in support of our military and country because while many people talk a good game, they couldn't be bothered to follow their own advice.
And if it wasn't for Free Republic, there are a lot of good things that would not havehappened.
‘..if it wasn’t for Free Republic, there are a lot of good things that would not havehappened.’
...and a lot of good, ACCURATE information would not get circulated. AMEN to all you said, Dr.R.
Although I live in Fla, I’ve been proud to join in 2 D.C. Freeper rallies to support our troops. I truly wish I lived close enough to join the Friday night Freeps. God bless Kristinn and everyone who stands outside WR to let our military and their families know THERE ARE Americans who support them.
Uhhhh, Is it just me or does anyone else consider this to be a request to use the liberal tactic of, "Slander my opponent to shut them up"?
Right, and the liberals whose support of abortion has murdered 42 million unborn children aren’t babykillers, just the evil US troops who rescue Iraq kids from danger and help them get medical care /s

Can you please elaborate?
Not surprising. I always felt that the Boomer Left is trying to use the “peace movement” to relive the glory days of the 1960s, the distant past, and it uses buffoons like the IVAW as surrogates. Someone should tell those s-o-bs that the 60s are dead, and they were a bankrupt era.
“AH...Baby killers. I kinda miss those days.”
Well said....what was it...”fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me”. What a great weekend for us all to visit DC. It was nice of them to ‘invite’ us!
Oh, and great tagline, I agree.
And notice this abortion sequel was announced on the 25th Anniversary of the Vietnam Memorial....only fitting that the black sheep have their 66 seconds of fame!

Thank you, stand watie. I appreciate your honor of my dear brother, who not only suffered after Vietnam but all of his life. He was a loner but so funny. His sense of humor kept him going and was a blessing to all who knew him. God bless YOU, dear friend.
Thank you, dear LucyJo. I am touched deeply by your words. I wish Eddie could have heard them. Our Vietnam vets suffered greatly throughout the history of the war and afterwards. I pray all have a healing in their lives. They were brave men and women and we appreciate them.
Thank you. He has a son, Greg, who lives in Frederick, MD. When Eddie died, he came to FL and retrieved his ashes and paid for everything. He and his father didn’t know each other well but at the end, Greg stood up and did what he could.
I wish I could have told your brother too, and I’m thankful to have had to opportunity to tell you. God bless.
