Great find my friend. The Chuck Todds of the world are very similiar to the guys that try to pick a bottom in the market, both will end up with egg on their face in the end.

And Chuck Todd NEVER gets it wrong!

You should email this to him. I think ol’ Highpockets could use the reminder.

The day after the election:

McCain/Palin win in landslide - America a racist country

Republicans pick up 10 senate seats, 54 house seats, again proving racism

A monkey slinging its poo at an electoral map would be a better predictor than must of these media pundits.

could turn out like 2000, with President Bush and Sen. John Kerry splitting victories..

Chuck Todd either needs to hire a proofreader or take some remedial history.

Call me crazy, but didn’t W run against Al Gore in 2000 and not John Kerry?

Yes, but that was in May, 2004. I doubt he would have written such an article a month before the election. Still, I hope is as accurate now as was when he wrote that piece.

'If you look at key indicators beyond the neck-and-neck support for the two candidates in the polls--

such as high turnout in the early Democratic primaries and the likelihood of a high turnout in November--it seems improbable that Bush will win big. More likely, it's going to be Kerry in a rout.'

lmao..poor Chuck Todd. And he's still trying to push propaganda

Ok...yes Crazy, Bush vs Gore in 2000, and Bush vs Kerry in 2004. There is nothing in this article that states otherwise, even though it’s wrong as hell on everything else.

Political predictions in May are far less likely to be true than those less than a month away from Election Day.

The Va. GOP fears McCain could lose the state

Virginia being a battleground state for a Republican running for the WH is a serious problem.

Eh..I’m sure he probably would’ve written the same thing in October of 2004, because the race was still neck and neck at that time. The media is always telling us about how there is going to be a HUGE Democrat turnout, and always talk about the new registered Dem voters.
This is the same tired old reasoning every four years...thank goodness it never materializes.

It’s pathetic how little it takes to amuse me. Good one!

So you subscribe to the Dick Morris school of predictions: keep making new ones until you happen to get one right?

VA was supposed to have been a battleground in 2004 as well... Kerry ended up abandoning the state in October. Same could be said of New Jersey in 2000. Bush/Rove wasted countless resources trying to win that state based on numerous polls showing it to be a dead heat.

Well, the main point of his piece is that presidential re-election campaigns are almost always decisive and not ties, like 2000. So, the options in his opinion were decisive Bush win or decisive Kerry win, and he looked at how things were in May, before the conventions and the debates, and viewed a Kerry decisive win as more likely.
