MCCAIN: Look, Arizona is under siege in many respects. We have broken borders. We have people flooding across. We have drug cartels inflicting incredible damage. We have — Phoenix, Arizona is the kidnapping capital of the world, second only to Mexico City.

And the legislature and the governor acted out of frustration because the federal government will not fulfill its responsibilities. I have said for years we have to secure the borders. We have to get the National Guard down there. We have to build a fence which I've said for years. We have to use surveillance and we have to have additional troops down there to start with the National Guard and then 3,000 additional Border Patrol.

MCCAIN: And every nation has the obligation to secure its borders. If you don't secure the borders then we're like a hamster in a wheel and people will be keep coming illegally. And finally, I remind you back in the 1980s under Ronald Reagan we gave amnesty to two million people on the proviso we would secure the border.

HANNITY: Hasn't happened.

MCCAIN: We gave the amnesty.

HANNITY: Alright.

MCCAIN: We didn't secure the border.

John, This statement is pure stupidity and shows just how your brain works:

Wouldn’t that make Mexico City the kidnapping capital of the world? Oh, and don’t forget the kidnapping paradises in Central and South America.

I’m not saying it is not bad in Arizona, and I am very supportive of tough immigration law enforcement, but you sir are typical of the beltway thinkers. If you think us average Americans can’t see your rhetoric, then you are a beltway fool.

McCain has known for 25 years that we were supposed to secure the border when the original 2million amnesty was given.

It was never done.

The only thing that has changed for McCain is that he now he is in a tough reelection fight.

Personally I would take George Mitchell & Tip O'Neill any day over Pelowsi & Dirty Dingy Harry Reid. These two are pure evil. That aside, I still think Reagan could have used his executive office & commander-in-chief status to clamp down on the border, but instead he did very little if at all to secure the border. Thereby setting the precedent for GHW Bush, Klintoon, GW Bush & 0bozo the commie pig usurper. I really think that Reagan did not have any strong issues with illegals coming into our country from Mexico, as he probably felt they were just searching for a better life, and he did not consider all the horrific results we are seeing today.

Just once in my lifetime....Dear God, give us a president with balls who will tell Mexico, the illegals & the enablers here in the U.S. to stick it up their @$$es, we are going to secure our borders once & for all, and deport any illegals that we find, including their anchor babies.

Will have to say that if the people of Arizona fall for this blatant revisionist history that McCain has ever been a border hawk I will have to question the mixed signals they send. The new law is nice but worthless if the polls they elect won’t follow through.

This would be absolutely laughable, except it is a sitting Senator lying through his D@MN teeth!!!

Today's so-called leaders have absolutely no shame. They stop at nothing to keep their positions, and then think they can fool us with the lamest of arguments and the most transparent of motives. That they think this can be sucessful, shows how little they think of the intelligence of the American people and how much they perceive themselves as elites who are entitled to better than the rest. Look at Arlen Spector, and now McCain.

Is there a more selfish group of human beings than our current representatives in Washington? They ignore their responsibility to 300 million Americans, holding their personal self interest as their only interest.

The sad thing is they are reflective of those who elected them and keep them in power. It's difficult to be optimistic for our country. I'm afraid we have, at large, lost the qualities required for a society to keep freedom and liberty. The founding fathers knew it:

What's more disheartening, the progressives know it (hell, they brought a lot of it about), and believe we are ripe for submission to their oligarchy. The constitution is held openly in disdain. Someone here, very recently posted an article from Salon, where the author wrote that people who agree with the constitution, and hold it in the same stead as did the founding fathers, have a "constitutional fetish". We want to live in the 1700s he contended. Of course his entire argument was against a straw man of his own making; totally illogical and without actual proof, like most (all?) liberal discourse; but, the idea that belief in the relevance of the constitution and the wisdom of the men who drafted it is somehow akin to a deviant, sexual perversion just illustrates how twisted is the thinking of far too many.

Sometimes, I am overwhelmed by how far and fast we have fallen. Gallup poll from Jan. indicated that 36% of Americans have a somewhat favorable view of socialism. That is astounding. I hope I am just momentarily discouraged; and there are enough good people to slow down this runaway progressive train come November.

If it doesn't happen in November, then what?


Apologies for the downcast point of view; it is just what is on my mind of late.
