Lord gods” used 4x’s: 7:02, 7:09, 7:37, 7:43;
“Oh gods” used 1x :7:56
LOL! Well, I don’t have the time to review the whole tape, and this cat might be right that the preacher was being all PC. But let me try and fill in the blanks why folks might have heard “gods”
“You will do it because your gods” (...you’re God’s children ....).
“Restoring gods” (...God’s rightful place....)
“One nation under gods” (...God’s mighty hand...)
Like I said - just conjecture.
Besides, if there really is only One God, then whoever anyone calls God, must be Him, regardless of the name. If someone says to himself...’dear God’...who hears it?
The Trinity is ONE GOD, not gods in one purpose as the LDS portray The great I AM. The Ancient Of Days is not a committee of three gods, albeit that is precisely what Mormonism teaches.
I’m sorry but it is people like you who give religion a bad name.
As a child, I remember a man on a box yelling to the people passing on the street how we were all going to hell if we didn’t repent right there and then.
My God will judge me when I appear before HIM. It is not your job to judge us in your image.
I was at the rally and also noticed his use of the plural “gods” instead of God. I even looked around to see if anyone else had heard the same thing. My concern is that in our rush to get out in front of God and “save” our nation we compromise His Word to be “inclusive”. In John 14:6 we are told that “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” We can certainly have a big tent politically but as far as salvation is concerned...
“But small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
Good to know that Wakan Tanka made it onto the team.
I'm not going to get frosted by all this apparent syncretism. If all that some people got from that rally was a renewed desire to tell and to revere Truth, then that by itself would be huge.
The rally was primarily about America's relationship with God. But for those among us who don't believe in God, there was still a lot to cheer at that rally. A sense of unity, renewed purpose and dedication, belief in truth-telling etc.
You missed another case where he clearly said “God”, at 9:36.
And if you notice, every place where he added an “s” was at a comma, and it seems a verbal tic, since whenever he wasn’t at such a stop, he clearly says “God”, and since “You” is singular.
Certainly a wierd verbal tic; although if I had to guess I’d say you were hoping to find he was Mormon, and once you found out otherwise, you had invested too much time in your research not to post anyway.
I think you’ve got it wrong.
Pastor Paul Jehle seems like a straight-up man of the Bible.
Here he is:

I am a Bible-believing Protestant Christian and I don’t see a problem here.
Oh yeah, and honoring the troops, especially three of them. Dang, how could I forget.
I caught the wording as he was praying. At first I thought it was a mistake, then I realized he kept repeating it.
I THINK he was trying to be inclusive to the others who were onstage (Rabbi and the Native Americans); however, I think he should have stuck to his principles and prayed to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords who he mentions in the rest of his prayer.
The other participants would have understood, and his prayer would not have been “negated” in the eyes and ears of believers for being PC.
Just my two cents...
Quixotic.
Ah yes, the established ‘world council of churches’ leadership writ large ... ‘any religion is a valid path to God’ heresy. I wonder, could you have written a prayer which didn’t go out of the way to pray to ‘gods’, without insulting the American Indian peoples or the Islamic Taqiyya Imam? I think I could have, but it wouldn’t have sounded so ... pandering!
you’re just begging to get your FReepmail stuffed with those who are going to tell you how to save your soul... Just like NOBAMA going to tell you how to save your Medical Insurance.
Here is Pastor Jehle’s church:
I would be happy to worship with these folks.
Straight from the book of ‘steal magnolias’. Loved the correction, y’all.
Be that as it may, please LISTEN to the recorded prayer for yourself: he is clearly addressing his prayer to the “gods” and no matter what the web page says, it can not account for what comes from his own mouth.
Or the hill country “you ‘uns”.
Because there were 240 ministers, preachers, Imam’s, etc...
This was not a crusade. I think you have your trousers in a twist over nothing important. No one went there to be converted.
Absolutely the former ! He should have turned, spit on them, denounced them as heathen sinners condemned to hell, and thrown them off the stage !
Right, jmouse007 ?
