You guys are missing the fact that the Washington Post is misrepresenting the story.

It is pretty obvious now that grassroots anger at incumbents like Castle got her nominated - her campaign has done nothing right

When she won the REPUBLICAN primary, the Delaware Republican Party should have supported her just as they would have had Castle won. I assume that they have some experience in advising candidates (other than taking their marbles and going home since their favored candidate didn't win).

She did not run as an independent - she is not an independent candidate - but other than Michael Steele, Jim DeMint and Sarah Palin's support, she may as well be.

“.....She’s done pretty well, considering that she has had to fight the libs and the country club set.”....

Yeah, not to mention those on OUR side, who should know better, who believe the bilge the media spews first.... then, maybe, checks out what she has to say. What gets me so steamed....besides Tokyo Karl and Krauthammer’s behavior after the primary.....is just how fast some of US choose to believe the freaking media’s version of.......ANYTHING.

No, Christine has done well. If she had had support from her own, right from the start, she’d be points ahead. She is a good candidate. Who just happened to be young once and did some dumb things. Don’t know about you, but my past is littered with really stupid things I’ve done, that I shudder about today, lol. I hope things break her way and the results stun the media...and the elites. We’ll see tomorrow.

Particularly telling is her campaign spokesman saying that he had no idea why it didn't air.

He also says they won't air it in the Philly market. Two-thirds of DE voters are in the Philly market.

Also, they ditched there existing producer at the last minute for another production company in CA.

To be honest, how can O'Donnell or her campaign staff say conclusively that the station was even paid in the first place? They are clearly completely disorganized.

Some of this is O’Donnell campaign incompetence.

Agreed. They knew she was far behind for weeks. Why did they wait until a few days before the election to book time? They raised millions (including some of MY hard-earned dollars). Surely they could have bought serious time on Philly/Wilmington alphabet networks.

Yes, O’Donnel’s campaign has been amateur hour, but think about a few things:

(1) She is not a professional politician. Yes, she has run before, but it is obvious her world doesn’t revolve around running for political office.

(2) She has gotten zero (0, none, nada) help from the GOP. Helping candidate with the mechanics of running for election (resources for creating and buying ads, setting up appearances, creating mailings, etc...) is one of the legitimate functions of a political party, and something every legitimate candidate running expects from their party. Even though O’Donnel is the legitimate GOP candidate, the GOP has refused to fulfill its obligations towards O’Donnell. Instead, the GOP has refused to help her in any way.

So yes, it is amateur hour, but who’s fault is that? The professionals (the GOP) has refused to help O’Donnell, even though they have an obligation to do so. That has left O’Donnell to rely on the only people participating in her campaign: the amateurs.

The blame doesn’t lie with O’Donnel. The blame lies with the GOP establishment that has refused to live up to their side of the political party bargain.

Wilmington has no alphabet networks. Regular campaign ads have been running on Philadelphia alphabet networks.

The campaign did not purchase advance time on networks in the Philadelphia or Delaware markets

She is going to all the work to make a 30-minute infomercial, then her campaign doesn't have the sense to buy airtime on stations people actually watch?

The only people that are going to see something on a Public Access Channel at 11:30 at night are not the voters that need to see it. Then again at 10 A.M. and 3 P.M.? Isn't Public access free airtime? Why? 'Cuz nobody watches!

That said, if the vaunted Channel 28 did purposely sabotage her campaign, lawsuits and jail time are in order

The media is our enemy.

Yes. Even more so than the Democrats. The media isn't even subtle about their corruption anymore.

Does anyone remember Obama’s retort to the questions about him not being qualified to be president, because he had never actually run or managed anything?

“I’ve run a great campaign for president, that proves I have the skills to run the executive branch.”

When she won the REPUBLICAN primary, the Delaware Republican Party should have supported her just as they would have had Castle won.

The DE GOP is a very small, not-ready-for-prime time organization.

Most of the people in DE that would be useful in a GOP campaign work for Castle (basically the only statewide game in town for the DE GOP), not for the state GOP.

And after the whole gay affair rumor, Castle was never going to endorse her.

She got $4 million in donations to run for a Senate seat that has fewer consituents than most Congressional districts.

She had $4 million to spend in a race where 66% of the voters live within a 15 mile radius of Wilmington - a smaller area than a lot of state senators have to cover in their campaigns.

In an environment where most candidates have an average of about $7 to spend convincing each swing voter, she had $100.

The good news is that the employees of NPR just voted to go private!

This is the end for NPR. It’s over.
