Flippin’ embarrassing? You betcha!
Boston Herald ^ | 11/15/10 | Jennifer C. Braceras

Sarah Palin has officially “jumped the shark.”

Last night’s premier of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” will be remembered as the moment the once-promising, conservative darling crossed over into the absurd.

Part Alaska tourism promo, part window into the family Palin, TLC’s eight-part series features clips of the former governor at home in gym shorts and shots of the family enjoying the great outdoors while she calls out folksy comments like, “this is flippin’ fun!”

If that’s not enough, Palin takes Kate Gosselin (of “Jon & Kate Plus 8” fame) camping in the Alaska wilderness - the two women reportedly didn’t get along (Kate, it seems, is a bit of an indoor cat).

Conduct unbecoming a former governor and vice presidential

“I am a Palin supporter, but I am not a blind follower.

In my opinion this particular thing did not help her if her objective is to become president. If she doesn’t ever want to be president.... then the show was fine and slightly entertaining.”

That’s pretty much where I’m at. I like Palin and what she’s done for conservatism in this country. She energized the base in 2008 and has helped a lot of candidates get elected in 2012. She’s a heckuva a lot smarter and more qualified than Obama - and she drives the media nuts. I don’t think the TLC show particularly helps her, but politics have changed - candidates tweet their messages and update their facebook pages - who would have expected that five years ago. 2012 is a long ways a way - I don’t need to decide on a candidate for quite some time.

I would like to know what you want your 2012 presidential candidate to be doing right now? Let’s see some examples.

How could Sarah ever show America that she is NOT the person the left wing media and the Dems and Romney and Rove try to convince us she is???

It seems to me, her books and her tours and these shows are designed to show us who she is.

If you don't like it, don't vote for her.

I personally am delighted that she fights back in an incredibly effective way. She is being paid to let you and me see her as she wants to be seen.

I thought it was great and made Sarah even more appealing as a real person. I wouldn’t expect N.E. liberal media elites to understand that!

“This show is one of th dumbest things I’ve ever watched.

I’d vote for Jack Osbourne (Ozzy’s son) for President before I’d vote for Palin at this point.”

This tells us a lot about YOU! And none of it’s good...

What’s going to happen is the perception of the MSM “jumping the shark”, in their constant effort to marginalize Palin.

This perception is not important to the readers here. It is important to independents who will eventually see Palin bashing as a marginal activity and disregard it.

I liked it! I thought it was a great way to showcase Alaska, and it is truly beautiful!

I give her big kudos for the way she lives her life. He has bigger stones than most of the rest of DC put together. Could you imagine Obama snowshoeing in Alaska? Or rock climbing? Hell just shooting a 30ot 6? Oh HELL NO!

I thought it was great. We got to see a glimpse of who she really is, and not what Katie and the rest of those idiots paint her as being.

The claws are out because she is a threat. And more of a threat than she was before the series.

I too am a Palin supporter and not a blind follower.

I personally don’t go for the tabloidesque side of her and her family’s pop culture participation and would rather her be seen advancing political philosophy and policy when she’s before a camera. Love what she’s done with her Facebook page, feel squeamish about some of her Twitter posts.

But I’m not entirely Middle American either, I guess. I can’t really gauge when she’s winning over potential casual voters and whether she’s gone too far. So I suck it up and hope that she moves into campaign mode, with more of the Serious Sarah on display, soon.

You’re right. It’s much better if we elect a President with a hidden college transcript.

I saw it and thought it was great. I set the DVR to automatically record future shows. Obviously the author of this hit piece is drunk on ideology.
