The data process used to arrive at the administration’s determination that greenhouse gases endanger “the public health and welfare” violated the Environmental Protection Agency’s own peer review procedure, a new report from the EPA Office of the Inspector General reveals.
Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), ranking member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, requested this report in April, asking that the OIG determine whether the EPA “followed key federal and Agency regulations and policies in developing and reviewing the technical data used to make and support its greenhouse gases endangerment finding.” Now, Inhofe is calling for a series of hearings to further investigate the IG’s findings.

“I appreciate the inspector general conducting a thorough investigation into the Obama-EPA’s handling of the endangerment finding for greenhouse gases,” Inhofe said. “This report confirms that the endangerment finding, the very foundation of President Obama’s job-destroying regulatory agenda, was rushed, biased and flawed. It calls the scientific integrity of EPA’s decision-making process into question and undermines the credibility of the endangerment finding.”
Inhofe lambasted the EPA for its failure to adhere to its own rules, outsourcing the science to the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change — and refusing to conduct its own analysis of the science — in the period leading up to its final endangerment finding.
“The endangerment finding is no small matter: Global warming regulations imposed by the Obama-EPA under the Clean Air Act will cost American consumers $300 to $400 billion a year, significantly raise energy prices, and destroy hundreds of thousands of jobs. This is not to mention the ‘absurd result’ that EPA will need to hire 230,000 additional employees and spend an additional $21 billion to implement its [green house gas] regime. And all of this economic pain is for nothing: As EPA Administrator [Lisa] Jackson also admitted before the Environmental and Public Works] committee, these regulations will have no effect on the climate.”
You know what doesn’t cost consumers billions of dollars each year, raise energy prices or destroy hundreds of thousands of jobs? Yep, you guessed it — drilling for natural gas. Just ask the Pennsylvanians who’ve benefited from all the activity surrounding the Marcellus Shale.
Yet the GOP has the rep as the anti-science party? I’ll never understand it.

There are few folks in the EPA that those of us who actually have done real science would consider to be “peers”.
After all, look at who they’re working for.

The released “climate-gate” e-mails said ‘we will change the peer review process itself if we have to’.
They knew they had to! Otherwise, playing the ‘game’ by the rules would have shown them to be absolutely out on a limb unsupported by any evidence that wasn't gathered via ‘using a trick’ to ‘hide the decline’.

It’s not what they preach which bugs me the most, although they are misguided and act like sheep it is the hypocrisy.

Bad science begets bad policy. Why pay 90% bureaucrats/10%(compromised?)scientists in the EPA to parrot 99% bureaucrats/1%(definitely compromised)scientists in the UN?
Any useful activity eminating from the EPA could be done by existing forrest rangers, one guy with a stack sniffer, and smoky bear.

As I’ve commented at this site several occasions we can find the UN as the basis for most every seemingly idiotic rule, regulation, or law we note creeping into our society at all levels be it our community, our State (Noteworthy by Californians), or as in this case the Federal Government. The UN is at the heart of the movement known as the “New World Order”. Agenda for the 21st Century.
The EPA has been caught in the act by the I.G. aiding, and abetting the UN, NWO, Agenda 21 to enter, and take a seat at the table, and to participate in our laws, our governance. It should be apparent to all what they are doing.
If some department, some bureau of the Federal Government existing is NOT designated specifically by the Constitution then it should belong to the States if they so wish, or should be eliminated in favor of reducing the power of the Federal Government by reducing the centralization of our government, thus returning our government to the States, and to the people, and out of the hands of devious, self serving professional politicians.
Take back our government.
Peabody Energy and others sought reconsideration of the EPA “Endangerment Findings” through the courts a while back. Not sure exactly how that played out or if it is still in the works.
We have a much greater tolerance of increased carbon gases than we do increased levels of O2. Try it. By EPA standards, Oxygen should be labeled a poison. Plants should be banned.
Fire obama in 2012. Then fire all his kommunist appointees that have infested our government agencies and who are making every effort to change (destroy) the american way of life. The socialist democrats must pay a heavy price in 2012 for enabling and lying to the american people so they could get obama elected.

We have a run away federal government where the US Constitution has become meaningless.
You have all these departments and agencies writing policies and regulating industries to the point where even the most “basic” Constitutional rights have become a joke.
Between ALL the various federal agencies, FCC, EPA, DOJ, DE, DOT, FTC, OSHA, DHS, DoS, IRS, FDA, DoA, DHHS, DoE... and each making up their own rules within their domain you end up with a small tight little box in which the so-called free citizen and business live.
And so all just keep piling it on and before long you the citizen finds yourself without much of anything other than a useless document that “allegedly” gives you some sort of rights which in reality have been whittled away in a thousand bureaucratic paper cuts. When you drive around and look up at the camera's, when you go to the airport and get asked to walk through an X-ray machine, when the police officer talks to your children at school without asking for permission from the parents, when the Coast Guard boards your boat at anytime and any place for a “safety inspection” which is used to look for probable cause for other things... How free are you? What right to privacy or from illegal search and seizure do you have?
