More than 500 Penn State students gathered in downtown State College about 11 p.m. Tuesday, then moved to Old Main, where their ranks swelled to more than 1,000.
They held signs, sang the alma mater, chanted "We are Penn State," most to show their support for embattled football coach Joe Paterno.
The demonstration, as a 12:30, had remained fairly peaceful. Police from State College, Ferguson Township and Penn State were stationed downtown when the crowd began building.
Brandan Westfall a sophomore, said he heard of the rally on Facebook.
“I’m here to support Joe Paterno, and the media is blowing this [the Sandusky sex abuse scandal] way out of proportion,” he said.
Members of the crowd carried signs which read “Remember Joe for 409,” and “JoePa is not guilty.”

“The initial form was very complex and took a long time to fill out,” said Allison Subasic, director of Penn State’s LGBTA Student Resource Center, of the 50-point self-assessment questionnaire developed by Campus Pride.

In August 2010, Penn State was recognized as one of only 19 universities in the United States to receive a five-star rating on the Campus Pride Climate Index for its LGBT-friendliness and inclusiveness.
Shane Windmeyer, executive director of Campus Pride and the index’s creator, said his organization is focused on building safer and more LGBT-friendly campuses.

There was a man that called into our local talk radio station today, 68 years old, who wept on the radio recounting how his life was ruined by a man who molested him for several years as a child. He had tried to commit suicide three times, and only recently came to accept Christ as his savior, else he may have attempted suicide again.
All I can think about through this Penn State saga is how the LGBT “community” and Democrat politicians throughout the USA are pressuring the Boy Scouts of America into ditching their policy against accepting openly homosexual scoutmasters. As an Eagle myself, the welfare of the BSA is always a concern of mine.
If these homosexuals are allowed access to our children....well, it’s unthinkable.
Meanwhile the BSA is losing access to public facilities because various governments disapprove of their “discriminatory” policy. I’m thinking of San Francisco, for example, but there are other cities.
Next they will go after their federal tax-exempt status, on the basis they don’t conform to progressive promotion of the “gay” lifestyle. Think Kevin Jennings, the “safe schools” czar.
And the same with most churches, since they will be seen as “discriminatory” and not worthy of tax-exempt status under new laws.

Maybe because Paterno was not part of the cover up; the Grand jury specifically noted that both he and McQueary had reported as the law required.

Ditto your comments on the BSA. I was a Cub and Boy Scout and I’m sure glad that people like Sandusky weren’t allowed to be Scout Masters.
The glaring inconsistency in my mind is that while this is being exposed and simultaneously whitewashed, Herman Cain is being pilloried in the media for the mere suspicion that he might have wanted to have normal sex with a woman.
Paterno and his masters at PSU have covered up felonious rape for over ten years, allowing it to continue. But Joe gets an “Attaboy!” rally.
During a recent trip to Malaysia met an Italian artist and writer in his 70’s.
He said the Church cannot control their priests if they are married and have children. They must be made homosexual.
He went on to say..they are picked mostly from poor families, placed in the seminary at a young age. In the seminary bad things happen to these boys...they are indoctrinated to homosexuality.
