Yesterday afternoon, JCPenney announced it would be laying off around 2,500 employees and shuttering 33 underperforming stores around the country. Want to know if your local JCP made the cut?

Looks like JC Penney, Sears and perhaps Best Buy are going down.
And I should “care” about this...,WHY???!!!
Sears has been on life-support for a while. Best Buy is critically ill. JCPenney is a dead man walking.
Because Obama is destroying the economy and more people will be unemployed.
I missed Hecht’s here,
Macy’s took over many of them and I hate that store.
“Looks like JC Penney, Sears and perhaps Best Buy are going down.”
I can see JC Penny doing that. Didn’t think Sears or Best Buy were of the same persuasion.
Sears-KMart really blew it with that despicable TV ad (nothing celebrates the birth of Christ like singing genitals), I hope they do shutter them all.
The only thing that bothers me is that all these people are losing their jobs. It’s sad because it didn’t have to happen. Company officials and politicians make decisions and come up with idiotic policies with no regard for the consequences to others.
What about Kmart, is the government supporting it.
If JC Penney's can't make it here, it can't make it anywhere.
wasn’t JCP the one with the gay couples on their catalog cover?
if so, good riddance.
What about Kmart, is the government supporting it.
Best Buy’s 2-week return policy was never a real draw, IMHO. I didn’t realize that they don’t have a 30 day policy like all the other stores I shop at until I tried to return something and was met by sneering “Customer Service” who had a hard time not snickering while I was standing in front of them. If I were to summarize the whole nuance at the “Customer Service Desk” it would be - No exchange, no return....just get out and take that thing you mistakenly bought from us with you!
Kmart and Sears merged awhile back. They’re the same company.
I get it.
They are going the way of buggy whips. Best Buy still has hope.
As we have traveled, I’ve noticed a lot of shopping centers with a lot of empty space where something used to exist. Has anyone else noticed that?
Homosexuals will need to find another place not to have ever shopped at.
i would like to know if the bulk of these are closing in republican goveror states.
wi has five closing, which is the largest. wonder if it’s some attempt to go after walker’s campaign pledge about job creation, and turning around the terrible business climate the wi democrats have and continue to push.
