We to Monroville Mall about an hour ago. There were three ambulances and a few cops cars outside one of the Macy's entrances....I parked at an adjacent Macy's entrance. As I put the car in park and grabbed my purse, I noticed large numbers of people streaming from all the exits in my view, and the cars around mine suddenly came to live & drove off. I got my 7 year old out and was heading inside when a nice, older blonde lady with broken English said "don't go in....they shoot". As soon as we returned to the car, massive amounts of cop cars from all over the area came streaming in as well as several other ambulances. This is the second "incident" at this mall in the past few months, the last one actually making national news.

Shots were fired at Monroeville Mall tonight; witnesses said at least one person and as many as three were wounded, that a potential suspect had been taken into custody and that the mall was being evacuated, store by store.
One witness said the shooting occurred either at a children’s play area outside Macy’s or inside the store and that at least one wounded person was found inside Macy’s. There were other reports that two other people were wounded and that gunfire was exchanged.
According to one witness, a male was apprehended in connection with the shooting near the Champ’s sporting goods store in the mall. The man had an earlier encounter with security officers, the witness said.

Three individuals were taken to a nearby hospital emergency room.

Yep. The confusion was just unfolding and wasn’t full-fledged when I was heading inside. I saw ambulances and cops at another entrance. This mall had a mob riot in December and I intiallly thought there was some small scuffle or something that was being made a big deal. It was after this woman warned us and we turned around that the stream of people and cars really began. And the ambulances and cops started pouring in as we were pulling out.
So poor judgement on my part? yeah, I guess. But it happened very fast and I think I was there so early on that no one really had a grasp of what was happening.
