Drudge: “I had a Supreme Court Justice say to me it’s over for me."

Circulating on the web tonight:

During an appearance on the Alex Jones Show, Drudge asserted that copyright laws which prevent websites from even linking to news stories were being advanced.

“I had a Supreme Court Justice tell me it’s over for me,” said Drudge. “They’ve got the votes now to enforce copyright law, you’re out of there. They’re going to make it so you can’t even use headlines.”

“To have a Supreme Court Justice say to me it’s over, they’ve got the votes, which means time is limited,” he added, noting that a day was coming when simply operating an independent website could be outlawed.

“That will end (it) for me – fine – I’ve had a hell of a run,” said Drudge, adding that web users were being pushed into the cyber “ghettos” of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

“This is ghetto, this is corporate, they’re taking your energy and you’re getting nothing in return – nothing!”

Unfortunately neither you or the morons in Congress have read this traitorous bill that they approved.

The GOPE is every bit as complicit in this tearing down of the fabric of America as the RAT party is. Obumbler has been funded by the GOPE for everything he demands as the GOP congresscritters quiver under their desks like the little sissy girls they are.

Good observations. Situation with “friends” for us is about
the same as you describe. (In fact, you may possibly be more
of a social butterfly than we are.) :o)

We always showed hospitality when anyone came to visit us;
but we were never the people who threw big parties. In fact,
the few times when we have had husband’s college “friends”
over, the wife of one of them flatly informed me that “she”
did not keep house for company, the top of her fridge was
loaded down with junk & blah, blah. So, husband kept
inviting them over anyway & inviting, & inviting until he
finally just quit and solved it (for a while) by having
lunch in town with the college buddy. I had informed him
of her expressed attitude; but I don’t reckon he believed
me. We recently met them for lunch in town and that was
OK. - Husband started up again, mentioning for them to
come out to our place sometime. (No response from either
of them.) - Then he started on me after that about “having
them out”. I just flat told him pretty much to quit
beating that drum. I’m old and all disgusted with it; with
her to be honest. I understand his feelings about an old
friend and wanting to be hospitable to him; but this
situation is NOT my fault. I’ve gone the extra mile.

Oh well. This “society” is all buggered up. I’m old and
on my way out before too many more years anyway; so I’ve
set my sights on what is real. - We live in the boonies
(which may well be invaded by the jihadists if Hussein has
his way); but if our “keep out” signs don’t stop them,
perhaps my great-great grandpas old Smith & Wesson might
just do if my Netanyahu doggie doesn’t get their attention!

I have been saying exactly that on FreeRepublic since I first signed up. People here seem to prefer to thing the GOPe is just dumb but I have felt since Reagan came up short on Department of Education that they were complicit. Not to mention that when we held both houses and the Presidency abortion never came up nor did many other Conservative issues. They have hid behind court decisions for most of my life.

What shocks me is the absolute lack of interest in ICANN.

Even many Freepers seem to not see the danger.

When opinions are formed based on twits and tweets how long before fake accounts begin to stuff the ballots on those forums?

My decor changes with the project at hand, and while I will not tolerate trash nor crud, nor even dirt, my clutter level occasionally surpasses the average person's threshold.

No matter, I have what I need in the morning and can resume the project at hand, and it gets put away when I am done.

I have never been an 'entertainer' per se (although no one leaves hungry or thirsty unless of their own volition), and really have little patience with the hobnobbers who only live to impress each other with how trendy or chic they are.

I'd rather spend my money on decent coffee than fancy cups.

To each their own, but I don't play the game.

I drive older vehicles (they are cheaper and paid for and get the job done).

Those I consider real friends are people I have known for decades. We have been involved in projects at one time or another, some successful, some not so much, but all of which leave us with a few good shared stories, which in the end is about all you have left after a few years.

We don't live in the boonies, quite, by North Dakota standards, but all of North Dakota except for a couple of dots on the map is 'the boonies' to most Americans. I like it that way, and fastidiously avoid places where distances are measured in minutes and not miles, unless the two are either roughly equal or part of the trip is on gravel roads.

Society is a mess, and even here, where I once thought people would all pull together and survive, I am now not sure that would be the case at all.

Maybe I am just seeing better with older eyes, maybe things have changed, or maybe it is a little of both.

I see a new generation with horribly shallow ideas who would walk through mudholes while thumbing their phones and never notice and I seriously wonder how much longer this nation will withstand the likes of the jihadis and the liberals. The picture isn't pretty.

I have my grandpa's shotgun, but Dad's old rifle is better, and I have added a few of my own to the herd. Wheel guns are fine (although I admittedly prefer semi-autos), but a good rifle has no substitute.

Sound sorta like us. - I’ve gone to drinking instant coffee after years of brewing it. The machine got too messy when I only drink about a cup a day & husband doesn’t care for it.
We drive older cars, too. Husband has “taken me off the road”, I guess because he thinks at 69, I’m a hazard. So, I try to cooperate. It works okay. He doesn’t think much about the times he has had me drive him to the ER; I tell him he had better let me keep my hand in at driving a little bit anyway. - He hasn’t mentioned the couple he’s been hung up on having out to visit lately. I still think he just needs to go out for lunch with the old buddy & let the wife do her “thang”. I’m not one to keep on beating my head against a brick wall. - A few of his old high school buddies came out a few weeks ago; and we went over to Cracker Barrell & had lunch. It was nice; and not a strain on anybody. - Husband had to get a cellphone many years ago; back when they took up a whole passenger’s seat in the car. The receiver was as big or bigger than a whole cellphone today. - No one had a cellphone back then. We aren’t very progressive; but we were having to stop at every pay phone along our route for him to make appointments. Boy! That changed in a hurry! Now, they might as well just tape the things on their heads. It freaks me out for someone to walk up behind me yakking & I think they’re talking to me instead of talking to their phones!

My aim is probably lousy. Daddy was a WWII combat infantryman in the Army; shell-shocked all to hell. I reckon he thought if he just didn’t teach me good marksmanship, I’d never have to fight in a war. I wish; but if wishes were horses; beggars would ride!

If this is how the internet will be, I’ll completely quit. Think it can’t happen? It did with cable TV.

They won’t care. In fact they might prefer it. They have their strong holds on our children in schools, so they won’t need news. And we won’t be able to keep up witht he truth..

It is never too late to learn to shoot, and women have better fine motor control as a rule than men. That makes them more accurate if they haven't been taught bad habits. With modern optics, if you can see it, you can hit it, with a little training.

About the phones, I gave up my 'bag' phone when they told me they changed things and it would not work any more. I view them as something of a necessary evil. A convenient pain in the rear.

I really hate it when someone comes toward me with one of those bluetooth gadgets, their head turned slightly away and completes their call. When you say "Hello" back, they look at you funny, and I have to console myself with the thought that if someone was walking around appearing to talk to themselves like that just a couple of decades ago the guys in the white jackets would have scooped them up.

I've always thought Washington has feared the internet.

Linking millions of people together...

Linking like minded folks together....

What if millions joined together to not pay income taxes?

What if millions of people stopped working for a week?

The people in power fear this....

I'm not surprised..that they are fighting to stop linking.

We are going to be in a big fight down this road........

Why worry. I won't read the New York Times even if a website links it for free. If the large news companies think they will earn more if independents like Drudge don't link to them, they had better pray that readers are willing to pay. They can get more from advertisers by having independents link to them giving them more hits.

All this will do is reshape the production of news. Small independents will welcome the income from Drudge like sites. The small independents will prosper and the old media will rot.

I’ve got to get in some target practice. The other night, there were a couple of coyotes moving along the river bank
down below us - an adult and a little one. So far, the coyotes out here have stayed wild and timid; but there are so many dogs in the area that have gone feral. If they ever start mixing with the coyotes; the bloodline will become bold pretty quick. - We used to keep the dog feeder in the garage; until one day I saw Wiley Coyote come streaking out the garage door. - I used to walk alone down on the river bottom below us; but now not so much. We got a nosy neighbor across the hill from us who liked to lurk on the property line and engage me in a conversation every time I tried to walk through our woods. He seemed to be retired.

What’s the difference between posting a link to an article online and printing a footnote in a book citing author, title, and publication date?

Coyotes will 'creep in', in that if you let them, they become bold and gradually assume uncontested territory is theirs for the taking.

Any canine will do that, from the neighbors' dog who 'goes' on your lawn, to coyotes and wolves. It is part of their psyche.

With coyotes, you just need to assert dominance over the terrain. That covers the gamut from cowboys relieving themselves along fence lines to the occasional shot coyote. Not being present, not taking the occasional potshot at one will guarantee they grow increasingly bold.

If your dog is a male, take it for walks around the perimeter of the property. It will mark territory to the point of being annoying (frequent stops), especially where another male canine has left a mark. That will at least let the coyotes know they are not alone.

It also gives you an opportunity to check for tracks, both coyote and others, just to see what sort of critters have taken up housekeeping in the neighborhood.

Is there harm in using Facebook very lightly? And Twitter? Just using it to occasionally look up someone or check on a current event or sport?

I’ve never joined either one...but what I can say is ..as you know I do a lot of searching for photos etc. I can say that once an event happens it’s best to grab what’s out there early on....(as with Merkel who asked Zuckerman at the UN to control the negative posts and photos about the refugees)...Nation leaders can pretty much get their cooperation and it’s not long before I see photos being pulled down.

So there’s already some control on the net....it’s pretty interesting that Zunkerman and the rest are frequent guests at the WhiteHouse and were at the Un Assembly as well......so it’s going to come down to more and more control of information for sure.

In the year before the 2012 election there was a discussion about Obama having almost admitted on camera he wasn’t born in the U.S. I added that I’d seen the clip of that IL senate debate against Alan Keyes. I had seen it on FR probably in 2007. I remembered it very well.

Yet in 2012 no matter how I searched it was nowhere to be found on the web. My first experience with web scrubbing. Years ago I had success re-finding Veep Cheney’s infamous pocket rocket photo so I felt I was a good online researcher. But you can’t find that debate footage AN Y WHERE now.
