The platypus - Still more questions than answers for evolutionists

by Paula Weston

Imagine, if you will, the excited glances exchanged if paleontologists were to uncover a fossil that looked like a mammal, yet also had bird and reptilian features. The immediate reaction would probably be to declare that here was, clearly, a transitional creature that provided an evolutionary link between mammals and their non-mammalian ancestors.

That might well be the conclusion drawn if a platypus fossil were found today, without living examples around to indicate otherwise.

The skeleton of a platypus on display at a Gold Coast, Australia, exhibition of Ripley’s Believe it or Not. (CMI article caption)

In 1943, Winston Churchill requested David Fleay send him six live platypuses from Australia. Fleay, knowing how difficult it was for his animals to travel, settled on sending just one. Named ‘Winston’, he was placed in a platypusary specially designed to handle the long sea voyage on the MV Port Phillip, along with a huge supply of his favourite food. Remarkably, Winston was thriving on the ship until it was forced to launch a depth charge against a submarine. The nerve receptors in his highly sensitive bill could not cope with the violent explosion, and he died. Winston did make it to England, but the British Prime Minister had to settle for his new pet being mounted on his desk. (CMI article text)

Churchill, not shooting at a platypus.

Clever little creature to make it from Mount Ararat to Australia without leaving any signs of its passage in the oceans and land masses in between. All that in a couple hundred years, at most. He hitched a ride with the Kangaroos and Kolas?

“Evolutionists”?
Must you do this crap, especially here?
The huge amount of evangelical and catholic posts here recently is very distracting from the Conservativism. God and religion related posts are fine, but it’s getting stupidly out of control by a few of our members posting vanities unrelentingly.

Monotremes. Like the echidna or (spiny anteater) and platypus. These are egg laying mammals. This early mammal branch never evolved past this stage. Not all creatures evolve as fast as others.
Mammals existed before dinosaurs and was kept down By the more advanced (at this early point ) and bigger more aggressive dinosaurs.

Divergent evolution gave the platypus a flat bill and poison glands/injector in their hind legs. Early mammals were egg layers. Some lines never evolved from this method of procreation.

So a mammal ‘evolved’ a beak, like a bird. Just by random chance.

I think some horny beaver got it on with a duck and it took.

Some ‘eveloution’ proponent told me how an eyeball could evolve.

1) a living organization has a ‘bump’

2) the bump senses shadows (

3) it evolves into a bigger bump

4) eventually it forms a small hole forming a ‘keyhole’ camera.

5) it becomes and eye.

The stupidity of this is amazing.

You have to have true belief. It assumes the ‘bump’ on the first creature is inherited by all its children. Then it assumes the skin around this bump has some way to sense light. Then it evolves a bump with a keyhole- I think the probability of infection as this keyhole fills with dirt is higher than it evolving into an eye.

An eye is something that only works if it exists all at once.

Your brand of mockery would be much more effective if you: a) actually attempted to answer the pertinent questions, b) didn’t fall into the trap of circular reasoning so consistently. ( the “signs of its passage” you’re referring to are ... ?)

I am convinced that the platypus is the best evidence that God has a sense of humor and said “Let’s see the evolutionists explain that!”

Are you sure you want to go here? The “CREVO” wars of FR’s past are legendary!

Furthermore, you are literally talking about the same mental processes that won’t accept President Elect Trump.
