Trump Admin to hold EPA accountable for massive toxic river spill
The Free Range Report ^ | 01/22/2016 | Chris White

Republicans and Democrats have criticized the agency’s decision to ignore victims associated with the Gold King Mine spill, which released 3 million gallons of dangerous metals like lead, cadmium and arsenic into the Animas River.

Citizens of the Rocky Mountain state are relying on the incoming Trump administration to require that the EPA pay damages in the wake of a massive agency-caused toxic water spill in Colorado.

Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye, a tribe whose water supply was affected by spill, said he’s hoping Congress and the Trump administration will force the EPA to take responsibility.

“There is no reason our families on the front line of this spill should have to tighten their belts while the federal agencies responsible proceed along unaffected by their own actions,” Begaye said Thursday.

He added: “We plan to work with this Congress and the next administration to bring justice and accountability for our Navajo people.”

The agency’s decision came after the Department of Justice October decision not to charge the EPA employee involved in causing the spill. EPA’s Inspector General (IG) launched an investigation into whether the employee violated laws regulating the country’s waterways and made false statements about the spill. The IG did not disclose the employee’s name.

Hope action is taken against the EPA for covering up the Flint water crisis too. Take some more wind out of the environmental wackos blaming republicans.

The top leaders of the EPA should be sued, not the government/taxpayers. We need some accountability in government.

Some of the EPA management need to be held accountable for both Policy and implementation actions.

Can you just imagine the crowd of abject losers and crony appointees that populate the EPA?

I don't even want to think about the hip-deep slime in that organization.

I have to say that there really is no mention of Trump himself or even the vaguest suggestion of his intentions. Quotes from two Senators is not quite good enough to justify the headline.

YAY! I HOPE Gina McCarthy has to serve time, or at the very least pay a huge fine, personally. Obama’s EPA ran roughshod over Americans every day. Time to pay the piper.

Love it.

Would love to see these scummy bureaucrats in jail.

Next fed agency to target: BLM working with Klintoons, Reid and the Chicoms.

They need to also personally sue the employees involved in this and prison sentences should be handed down. Water in the west is life.

Pres. Trump definitely ought to intervene on the side of the Navahos on this matter. The EPA parasites punish the taxpaying landowners for pollution if water after a storm floods into a government declared wet land. It’s time the individual EPA employees, who cause damage to the environment with their ignorance, be given the same treatment. Fine them to the max. They should have their own personal property auctioned off, as they do to landowners if they can’t pay the enormous fines the EPA levies.

Citizens of the Rocky Mountain state are relying on the incoming Trump administration to require that the EPA pay damages...

And take it out of their current budget, thus depleting it of doing even more damage to our nation.

I see wholesale house cleaning as a good teacher in this case.

Managers and technicians responsible, fired. Managers and technicians that were involved, demoted to clerks. Those that positioned the agency to allow such actions, fired with action from impacted allowed.

Agencies must learn there are consequences. Right now, they have no fear of anything, they just proceed with their leftist drivel beyond what the agency was authorized for in the first place.

As far as I am concerned, All these States affected by the Vandals at the EPA screwed up big time and now they want somebody else to help them out of the mess they created.

They should have ARRESTED AND PROSECUTED Everyone Involved, including the Head of the EPA. It isn’t too late either to begin Issuing WARRANTS FOR THEIR ARREST.

Of course it was. They had been trying to gain Superfund status for this location for quite a number of years. This helped it right along.
